I came to love the movies of Chris Marker in the past year.
His Movies might seem unusual if you were mainly into Hollywood flicks till now - they are eassy films. You see footage, and Marker talks. Some of his works are documentarys, few are fictional works.

On Vimeo you can watch Jetée
Not a valid vimeo URL
a small science fiction story, compressed into a few minutes. Some stills, Chris Markers voice - maybe the best science fiction movie I know of.

Jonas Mekkas has a very similar style, but the resulting movies are still something completely else (but also masterworks); it is crazy how far you can come with such limited assets.
As someone who is mainly into game development (and thinking about narration in this context often nowadays) I would like to try to translate this style into something like a visual novel. Maybe this will be one of the projects beneath our main stuff that I'll tackle next.

I need to see more movies of his, i've seen "La Jetée" around a year or two ago. It's really worth watching (especially if it's free !).
The original Fallout's cutscenes are also inspired from this movie in one way or another. (got it from a conference some time
ago)
If that can attract some interested people.

Have a good day.

I guess Sans Soleil is his undisputed masterpiece - if you havn't seen it already, I heaviliy recommend it.
"A grin without a Cat" was also a breathtaking experience.

Got to play the early Fallouts someday, but there are so many things to be done x).
Greetings!
