If you could suddenly be an expert at any one thing...what would it be?



I am putting forth this question yet finding it difficult to answer personally or think very hard about lol...the first thing that jumped to mind was music production, but that's only because I've been playing around with it, but slowly, and I have been...well, impatient. But that's small beans and I'd probably regret not enjoying the process as a beginner while I could. More realistically and thinking a little harder, I think it'd be nice to suddenly be an expert in a language, or sculpting (somehow, "skipping" ahead on this one doesn't make me feel as regretful compared to if I were to imagine myself fastforwarding music production abilities) ...More unrealistically, perhaps I wouldn't mind suddenly becoming a master at the ability of time travel : P

Ha! I tried considering some manner of immortality for my answer, but I had no idea how I wanted to phrase it because "master at living forever" sounded too boring (and I don't think I actually do want to live forever). "Expert at denying the laws of everything" gets major bonus points for versatility, chaos, and just sounding cool. Props.

Probably programming, and if I had to narrow that down, specifically software architecture/design.

Either that or guitar/bass guitar because I enjoy playing them and it'd be nice to be able to play them well. :omg:k:

Problem solving. Like any issue in existance, I could solve it. Lol, more realistically, I'd love to be extremely artistically talented. I'm not a bad drawer, I'm not the worst painter by far, I can muster up some digital collages. But I'll never reach master-levels unless I go to academy extensively. Before you say "Just do it", my main problem is that I go through month long periods where my creativity is at zero. I'm always consuming art and art history but making it myself only happens in rare spikes throughout the year.

Easy. Expert at achieving whatever goal I work toward!

• Learn any skill super easy as long as you can set goals for it.
• Succeed at many more tasks at hand.
• If you're an expert at achieving ambition, you'll have the mindset needed to work with it.
• If you're an expert at achieving goals, you know how to set them real well.
• Because work ethic is a fundamental of achieving goals, I say it's safe to assume you will magically gain that alongside the skill. If not, use your new skill to get some grit!
• Become significantly more productive AND educated in the long term.
• Even immediately, you'll see a change in your attitude that empowers your current objectives!

Really, it's like exchanging any one immediate expertise for a plethora down the line, which is an invaluable trade-off. That may seem like a cop-out, and that's because it is, but if I were making the wish then that's what I'd ask for.

I think if we're not playing a silly game about phrasing the Perfect Wish to a hypothetical genie  then I'd say speaking all languages flawlessly. No matter where you are in life, being able to go somewhere on a whim and being able to talk to people there is the coolest thing. It also makes emigration pretty easy in case of emergencies.

Plus you can talk to people in their obscure language and surprise them!

Hmm, this is indeed a very difficult question. I'd love to have expertise in mechanical/computer engineering so I could build anything! It's not really something I would go to a school over, because I don't want to do it as a living, but I'd love to build all sorts of gadgets and devices for my home, and reuse old washing machines and whatnot lol. Would also be super cool to build robots ÒwÓ Expertise in languages and music sound really tempting as well (I'm trying to learn how to make music for my games and I haven't really even gotten started, but I know it's gonna be loooong journey).
