My botanical art 🌱

I thought I would share some of my art here  I mainly make art of plants, and sometimes bugs too like moths and bees. I use Photoshop Elements as my main art program, but I have done some pieces in Photoshop 5.0 (released in 1998) through a virtual machine of Windows 98    !

These are very sweet! I was thinking they had a 90s vibe before I noticed that they were made on 98 

Fun fact: I don't remember much about it, but I once read a Victorian book on flower communications; apparently in the 1800s flower meanings were EXTREMELY important and you could have whole secret conversations with people by sending them pressed flowers of different kinds

Thank you !!  One thing that I love using in my art and something that I think helps it have that vintage vibe is lots of texture. So much graphic design I see these days is just flat and it makes me a bit sad  I miss when everything had a texture !

And yes I've heard a bit about Victorian flower languages ! I haven't studied them in depth but its a fascinating idea

I love all of these so much, especially that first one! Botanical/insect art is some of my favorite and I love drawing flowers myself. I really like that they're done in older versions of Photoshop, too! I myself like using old versions of MSPaint to do pieces from time to time.
