What introduced you to Neocities?

those of us saying they heard about Neocities through a Tumblr post... did we all find the exact same post? the influence that user had...

apparently I made my account in July 2024, which I think makes me a toddler compared to most of the people on this forum. for at least a couple months I didn't actually do anything with it, but then I found Monastery of St. Blamensir, which encouraged me to actually give making a website a go. I'd say the second event had more influence over me discovering what Neocities is than the first.

i found about it last year when i was looking at someone's profile on toyhouse, and i was like "that's so cool !! i should make a website too  "

before i heard of neocities, i tried other websites like strawpage, rentry etc... but i felt like there was limited customisation and i wanted a website where i can freely express myself online 

when i first started, i didnt have much knowledge of html and css so it was a bit of a struggle for me  but im one of those people that keeps on trying and doesnt give up, so now i have a knowledge of html and css and can code awesome stuff
