Hello everyone!
My name's Aidan, currently living in Norway but I have been living in a few places around Europe, from Ireland initially then I lived some years in Sweden and then Estonia. I used to hang on web forums back when I was younger but then with reddit and twitter I kind of lost in touch of that, But now with Reddit's change in 3rd party apps I decided to get back into it again.

My hobbies include birdwatching and nature photography, collecting hard to find cds and vinyls.
I'm also trying to relearn and refresh my knowledge in making a website of my own so I have some projects to play around with. I set up as my landing page, it's not much but I’m happy with my first attempt at making it: https://heliogabalus.neocities.org/

I'm not entirely sure what more to tell so I will add one of my recent favourites nature photos I've taken if I say so myself :dl:
:dog:

Hi Obi Wan Aidan, I really enjoy your pictures. The bird one is so dynamic. I love seeing birds interact :4u:

First of all, welcome to the forum. Might I ask if you have a gallery somewhere of all your photos? They look fantastic.
Also, might I ask about the way how you wrote your first post... because there is an odd pattern in a couple of mistyped characters. Almost like you used a handwriting-to-text program, which didn't recognise some of the letters correctly. Do you use anything like that?

Oh not yet I haven’t decided where to display my nature photos yet. I’ve considered posting some on instagram but never really got around to it for now. I have asked a friend to help me pick out which photos to post whenever I get around to it for now. But your question did give me the necessary push to start making something of it

And your other question I had written out all beforehand but I had forgotten to save it so I lost the text but I managed to take a screenshot before the page reloaded which I used to just copy the text from the screenshot. Now in hindsight I should have proofread before posting my bad  :drat:

Hi Aidan, welcome to the forum  :ha:

Wow that sounds like you've spent a lot of time in dark nordic places - I hereby grant you a holiday to Ibiza  Love the pictures though; the look on that birds face is fascinating. Id love to hear more about how you run your blog; its a lot to jump into without context, but it seems very indepth.

Hope you enjoy the forum!

Basically I started it about two weeks ago. I started reading a 16th century book collecting what they at the time considered strange and unusual accounts and it gave me the idea to share some of the most interesting stories. Keeps me motivated to keep reading when I know I can share.
What I find most fascinating with it is recognising some historical person in one of these account knowing something that might not show up in the history book and all the “regular” people’s accounts in it people and events that never show up in a history book. Makes me feel closer to them somehow  how similar to us they are after all it’s hard to describe.
Perhaps I should add a bit more info with context on the FAQ of what the blog is about hmm.

@Elagabalus: Maybe you can make a gallery on your own website. That's the power that you have now as a website owner. You probably have some interesting photos to show.

@Gans I’m planning on it! I’m still new to making a website so I’m learning as I go pretty much.
