Goosechase is a project i am working on- a mini comic revolving around two kids (well, one kid and one kid-like creature), Owen and Tortie, as they navigate the divide between their worlds.

Owen is a dangerous creature that lives on the outskirts of town, in a rusty old car suspended in a tree. She's fluffy with sharp teeth and eyes that glow and she lives off a diet of raw meat, but overall she's just a normal girl. Still, most people don't see her that way.  :dog:

Tortie is a intelligent non-verbal boy with a nervous but gentle personality. He views Owen as sort of an older sister like figure. He doesn't see her as any different than his other siblings, and tends to spend more time with her then in the town with his family, unbeknownst to them.  :dive:

Goosechase is nearing the end of it's conceptual stage, as I prepare to begin illustrating the pages. It will be traditionally drawn, inked, and colored. If all goes well, I will release the comic online, and offer a physical version for those interested.

I hope you enjoy coming along on this journey with me!

Ah I love this; its just like an 80s manga! I look forward to reading it too!

When I was in the manga museum in Kyoto I found this in the library and your work realllly reminds me of it (I have no idea what it actually is, but if you ever find out maybe you'd enjoy it!)

wow, thank you for all the positive feedback everyone! I am working hard to make this a reality, so im glad you are excited  :unite:

i love the art in that book, after some searching it seems to be pico★pico by hiroyuki etō. Though, there isnt much info online. Still, it is going into my inspiration archives~ :ha: :pc:

A few of my inspirations are the amazing drawings by Akira Toriyama for his mangas Doctor Slump and Sand Land, as well as the gorgous coloring style of Osamu Tezuka's Unico. I also follow @tataka510 on twitter (i lurk there for art heh) who does amazing atmospheric comics.

Here are some recent sketches ive made the past few days. Ive found im working best when i do small spurts of work throughout the week, and then have days i just do not think about it at all. making a comic is hard work, and it helps me feel less stressed.

first, we have a conceptual panel. Im planning on making goosechase full color, but i was more focusing on the lineart this time around. my lineart is pretty hit or miss... i get to nervous, and mess up easily. im learning to figure out ways to counteract that.

speaking of messing up lineart, here are some panel sketches i made at a comics class. (this was a little bit ago, last month. my teacher was really cool, hes worked on lots of comics like marvel, ninja turtles, etc. hes very good at art. when i got home i tried to ink them, but i didnt like how they turned out. i was a little sad, but life goes on. (you can actually see in the post above, some attempts at me redoing lineart to try and figure out what went wrong. i like how they turned out, now to figure out how to do that every time...

a few more sketches ive worked on. i have alot lying around. from design concepts to pages of me trying to improve at lineart.

i also drew owen in a more realistic style. pretty cute. you can see her design start to shift slightly, as i try to figure out the easiest ways to draw them. you need to make your designs really streamlined when your going to have to draw them a bunch!

actually starting is the stressful part... i need to stop being such a perfectionist! im so excited to share this story though, nothing can hold me back for too long. by for now! :unite:

Obviously the artstyle is really cute but the paneling in the pages you showed is also great. I don't know much about comic making but this looks about as good as any manga or comic I've ever read so great job!
