 i never grew up with the gba or many gba games, despite starting out with a ds lite, so i didn't get into the gba scene until quite a while later! i still haven't played too many games, but for now i think my favorites would have to be sonic advance, super mario advance 2 (aka yoshi's island lol), kirby nightmare in dreamland, and klonoa empire of dreams :0 i haven't properly played pokémon emerald yet but i loved oras, so i bet that game will be up there with the others once i do play it haha

I was SO obsessed with YU-GI-OH: The Sacred Cards!

It not only let you put your own name in the game, but it was easy enough for little me to feel cool by putting random strong cards in my deck! The gameplay is kinda confusing and they don't really tell you what you need to do to progress the story. But I was just addicted to the grind of just wiping out all the NPCs and characters and getting their cards. And I felt so cool just having the three god cards by the end! I wish Yu-Gi-Oh made more games that catered to the older fans, but don't have annoying micro-transactions or game passes

Personally, I loved the pokemon games, I replayed Pokemon Emerald over and over again. And I loved the Shaman King series for it too, I don't think I beat either of the two games but they were cool, kind of platformer-metroidvania like.
I also used to like some sort of Lord of The Rings strategic game, but I don't remember much of it now, so it might be nostalgia speaking.
And while not my favorites, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem and Mother 3 deserve some honorable mentions ≽^•⩊•^≼

I didn't even hear about Klonoa game for GBA before, that's really cool to know! I will check that one out, there is something charming about this series for me.

Oof, I put many many MANY hours on the GBA emulator. So much that now I want to buy a purple GBA, because that was the color of the emulator's icon haha

Pokemon Ruby will forever be my favorite. I played Emerald eventually and loved the battle frontier and stuff, but Ruby was my first pokemon and my first GBA game, so it's near and dear to my heart. To this day, it still feels like home. I have a save file still and a couple times a year I open it just to walk around, listen to the soundtrack, defeat some mons, etc. There's no stronger nostalgia for me than the one I feel towards that game.
My favorite pokemon spin off for the GBA isn't mystery dungeon (I never liked the controls on this console) but pokemon pinball: ruby & sapphire. Absolute BANGER of a game that should've gotten a sequel for each new generation. Arcade games rot my brain (affectionate) and I love it a lot. At the beginning of the year I took a trip with almost no signal and downloaded it on my phone to pass the time. I'm still addicted to it lol

There's also many games that I didn't get to complete but I still loved! Wario ware minigame mania, The legend of zelda minish cap, final fantasy tactics, kingdom hearts chain of memories.

It's a console that I want to eventually come back to and tackle my backlog like, hardcore. There were way too many iconic games on it.

ive never had a gba unfortunately but i still was able to play some gba games for myself! my top favorite gba game has to be pokemon mystery dungeon: red rescue team! i was so obsessed with it as a kid, that i almost finished the game! but my save file was deleted and i never played again until recently </3 even now, its such a lovely game. i really like the real time battles and getting to play as a pokemon!

my second favorite is rhythm tengoku. not to brag or anything, but i've got a superb in every rhythm game B]

The GBA was my first-ever handheld console. I was gifted the same one I have (and still use today!) on Christmas Day of 2003, so I've had that thing for almost 20 whole years. :")

My favourite GBA games would have to be the following, in no particular order:

* Wario Land 4
* WarioWare: Twisted!
* Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
* Mario vs. Donkey Kong
* The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
* Blender Bros.
* ChuChu Rocket!
* Drill Dozer
* Densetsu no Starfy (all three games released for the GBA)
* Kuru Kuru Kururin
* Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi: Kaznapped!

the GBA is my favorite gaming console!!! my favorite game on it would definitely have to be the legend of zelda: the minish cap (which is also my favorite game in the LOZ series in general) but i also really enjoyed pokémon ruby/sapphire/emerald and red rescue team! i'm more of an "original game" person than i am "remake game" person, but firered/leafgreen were pretty good games as well. the gba soundfont is my absolute favorite as well, there was a special crunchy kick to the bass that you just couldn't get on the DS and whatnot.  :loved:  :loved:

The obvious good games: Any Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Warioware, Hamtaro

My personal favorite: Summon Night: Swordcraft Story was my favorite game in high school and I highly recommend it to anyone. (I own both 1 and 2, but I didn't finish 2...) It's a spin off to the main series that wasn't brought overseas so you don't need to know anything about Summon Night for it. I stopped my replay several years ago but it was just as fun as I remember it.

I'm smiling seeing some love for the minish cap here! It's also my favorite GBA game! I could go on for hours about how much I love it but the TLDR of it is that it's got such charming pixel art, has very clever and fun mechanics and has a really nice game length. Not too long but not too short, with plenty of extra stuff to do after you've beaten the game (kinstones fusions!) The director, Hidemaro Fujibayashi, also directed BOTW and TOTK (among other zelda games) and we alllmost got the minish in BOTW.

I also have many fond memories of playing mario kart super circuit with my siblings on long car rides when we were kids.

ruby version and superstar saga are also favorites of mine. The battle theme of the latter lives rent free in my head and I'm totally ok with that :^D I'm no too fond of the remakes for either of these games though. I feel as though they lost their charm with the overhauls to the original art styles. (I believed they fixed the Wendy fight in the superstar saga remake though, which is great!)

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I forgot to mention this gem of a game in my reply! I absolutely agree that it still holds up well to this day! I remember spending hours in the little dance mini game thing.

Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission are my absolute favorites on the Gameboy Advance! I'm also fond of Wario Land 4, that one's also plenty fun.
