Ooh, I love this subject!  :ha:

What inspires/inspired you to create a shrine?

Personally, I use shrines to talk about a subject or media (game/book/tv/movie/podcast) that is dear to me. I keep mine in the scrapbook section of my site, so I call mine scrapbook pages ;3. I only have one at the moment, but I plan on expanding it soon :) (next subject will probably be the Welcome to Night Vale podcast)

How do/did you make your shrines - are they simply pages talking about the topic of interest, or do they have their own entire section with specific pages, stylesheets, et. al.?

I'm not skilled enough at coding to be able to add things like maps, stylesheets, puzzles and such. So I stick to images, gifs and writing :3. But I do love customized shrines!

What do you think are some must-have aspects a shrine should have?

I think a personal connection to the subject is important. It could be something you grew up with or something that resonated with you. I love hearing about what made the subject of a shrine dear to a person.

Things related to the respective character/media (aesthetics, lore, colors, et.al.) and the devotion I have to them/it. Other people making their own bunch of shrines inspire me too!

When it's a character shrine I use the character wiki template but with the aesthetics and colors I associate with them. An when it's a media shrine I use a template and style related to that same specific media.

Some fun things it may have depending on the character or media (specially widgets)

And finally I share you my first yume shrine!

Regarding shrines, I vibe a lot with @YoungsterJ4y 's viewpoint above ! :unite:

I personally have only one online shrine currently (for my dog) but several planned. I do want to experiment with different layouts and styles, and I feel like shrines are a great place for that!

I plan on making a Skyrim shrine (among others). I think I'll plug some of my thoughts and favs from the game there, but I mostly want to make several sub-area for my Skyrim characters/OCs! I think I'll style it in a way that fits the game aesthetic and universe, and I see it as a fun/challenging webcrafty project.

However I have to say I put a lot of pressure on myself regarding shrines specifically ? Because I want to talk about things that are pretty important to me/significant brainworms, I want to "do them right". It's a little bit hard to get started, it can feel a bit overwhelming. Does anyone else feel that way or similar ?

My fursona is a lycaon/crayfish mix and his name is Nematode, and I believe that's a good snippet of my vibe.
