Lighter things to do on my phone that aren't social media?

i read cohost posts. its still a social media but with a lot of high effort posts so i guess you could even call it more of a blogging platform rather socmed

also i had nethack on my old phone (doesnt work on new one sadly. and i dont like gnoll/pathos)

OMG, I absolutely LOVE sortition social! I first found it on the gemini mirror a few years ago and absolutely love it!!! It's so good for finding new feeds to subscribe to and getting a good variety of perspectives across the web. It especially feeds into my personal Interest of coding and technical explanations, since the majority of the feeds on there seem to be tech related. That could possibly be because I am biased, or my autism related to my Personal Interests leaking through.

A similar feed I would also reccomend is https://cosmic.voyage, it's a bit more centralized but its basically a collaborative creative writing space where you read "logs" picked up from various "signals" across space and it's always an enjoyable read. I personally quite enjoy and am Interested in thinking about the endless expanse of space, so it is quite appealing to me. It also has an rss feed, which is great because RSS feeds are another Interest I have and I absolutely love how clean and simple RSS feeds are and its just fantastic.

I've been trying to cut down on my screen time as well. me and my friend are doing this challenge to see who can last the longest without social media at all. (Including YouTube, Pinterest, Tumblr, Reddit, and the big 3) It hasn't been especially hard without the big three But as an web loser and an artist, being without Pinterest, Tumblr, and Reddit SUCKS!!!

Instead of scrolling I've been creating more (especially online I've been coding like a mf hahah) I've been in a drawing and reading slump for literal years. However, since I have nothing to consume besides books, I've been creating more art that actually kind of looks good. I've still been online for way too long, but it's being online talking to people, coding, and websurfing. I think that's infinitely better than scrolling mindlessly through social media :D

Now all that's left is to start exercising regularly...

in my case, simple educational things work. the main thing is not to push yourself. it should be fun and chill!

offline things:

• perfect ear — (Android) ear training app
  
• clefs — (Android) music reading trainer
  
• just looking for the words you didn't know before and write them down to your personal wordbook (Android)
  
online things:

• animal videos! they are relaxing! :)
• reading people's blogs/journals. i usually use bearblog (recent discovery feed)
  
• search last updated websites on neocities or nekoweb (with or without specific tag)

I realize I've already replied to this thread, but since the last time, I've added something new to my phone. Ankidroid is a flash card app that has a lot of user-created flash cards for it. You can use it to learn anything, really, but I use it for Latin and Spanish vocabulary. It has a specific algorithm that it uses to rank how well you know the words and then throw up ones that you need practice on, while slowly adding new ones over time. It's proven to work and really easy to use!
