What is your favourite video game OST?

Not sure if it's just nostalgia or something, but the first Ape Escape game has what is probably one of my favorite soundtracks from a video game. Might be because it's most likely what got me into electronic music in general as a kid. I just... like it a lot, I guess.

People have mentioned Jet Set Radio, Persona 5 and Splatoon, and I agree!!! That stuff is great + Hideki Naganuma never misses. Some other cool ones are 3rd Strikes OST AND Guilty Gear's OST. Which game? All of them

I think as its stands, its a tie between Sonic And The Secret Rings, Dark Souls 3, and Oneshot. An extremely interesting and kind of cursed combination of albums to be honest, but I have absolutely no idea how to decide!

Let's see. I really enjoy Lunacid's OST! It's great by itself but even better when listening to it in-game, taking in all the ambience and the game's unique soundscape. 

This is the track for Wings Rest, the one area of true respite in the game. It's very calming and you'll be returning here often so it's kind of the game's de facto theme in my opinion.

Halo: Combat Evolved has a unique OST! Even though it's an action focused FPS game, the OST has what I think are New Age inspirations which fit surprisingly well in its sci-fi and alien settings.

Mirror's Edge also has one of my absolute favorite songs, Still Alive! Mirror's Edge and this song define an entire era for me!

i LOVE the unravel two soundtrack!!!! the unravel series is just such an underrated series of games in my opinion, and its soundtrack is just beautiful! definitely recommend checking at least one if not both games out, especially if you have xbox gamepass as both games are on there :] (if you only want to check out one, id recommend unravel 2! i think its controls are better, and it doesnt have a massive story that requires playing the first lol)

I have many I love, but my faves:

The Portal 1 & 2 OST - I adore the OST to both Portal 1 & 2, I cannot get enough of either.

The JP Sonic CD OST - This one is just goated. One of my all time fave game OSTs really...

Diablo 2 LOD OST - Another one I've listened to extensively

MK3 OST - The Pit is one of my faves from the album.

I put the entire playlists since its really hard to just pick one, outta all of these I don't think there's a single song I would call bad, or even just OK. Also not sure if this counts since its from a movie, but the Resident Evil theme is an absolute classic

My baby. <3 I think I listen to "Game Over" religiously. Next to that, "Transformation".

I'm glad to see others sharing PS1 game tracks there, that era really produced some stunning experimental music. I swear there was an explosion of creativity, after no longer being limited by the space considerations of the old cartridges.

The entire fusion score of Tenchu is fantastic, but nothing sets the tone for the game like its opening song, "Addu'a". West African lyrics, a funky baseline, traditional Japanese melodies mixed with Turkish patterns and an airy synth. There's a violin in there, and some later tracks have Baroque phrases. Jesus.

Another honourable mention goes to Einhander. My personal favourite track from the score is the boss theme "Shudder", especially when it breaks into rapid-fire rap lyrics, but the piece that's most emblematic of the game is "Street", below. Indian melodies and percussion with heavy electronic beats and a bit of drum n bass texture.

And now for something newer. I hated P3 FES, but dammit, this is a fire battle theme. I'm a sucker for hard rock mixed with rap and groovy female vocals, funky keys, and swinging brass.

definitely nier automata and nier replicant OSTs for me, they feel so epic to listen to but at the same time can be really calming. oh and celeste's OST is also SO good T-T has helped me deal with my anxiety at times tbh

i really recommend playing these if you ever find the time

It is quite difficult to pick just one favourite OST because many I have listened to are bangers, but I just list a few from some of my most fav games.

One of the most memorable OSTs in Cookie Run: Kingdom is Perilous Battles Await, the first time I heard this when the update dropped, I was so surprised by the intensity of the music, it really gets me hyped up.

For Sky: Children of the Light, In the Middle of a Dream is one of my top favs, because it is played during my favourite season event. The enjoyment of the event and the beautiful music made me love this season very much.
