Whoops just fixed the typo in the header
I genuinely never noticed until you pointed it out I'm still playing through Pokemon Violet, but also started playing Jedi Fallen Order on my Steam Deck. I've already played through it on Xbox, but it was on sale for a few bucks during the Autumn Sale and I can't resist a handheld version of an already great game.

I finished the Stormblood expansion to the MMO Final Fantasy XIV recently and I am still blown away. This game is genuinely the best narrative I have ever seen in a video game, and I just love its world so much.
I am aware it's the most popular MMORPG on the market right now but I still feel like it deserves some love. Its community is the genuinely nicest I have ever seen; never in my 500 hours have I found a REALLY toxic player, and pretty much everyone says hi at the beginning of a dungeon, chats, hangs out; like old MMOs really! It has a large queer playerbase too and plenty of gender parity, if that's important to you.

I know this game is both controversial to some and overblown to others, but I can't make myself to put Cyberpunk 2077 down whenever I have time and opportunity to play.
I've beat the main campaign multiple times and these days I just come back to it…for the world? I also love to see what the modding community does with the game. So right now (or rather a few weeks back when I still had time to play) I installed multiple immersion mods (survival mod to eat/sleep/drink, a cyberpsychosis mod, a drinking-in-bars mod, etc etc) and just…it's a sumulator for me by this point. I'm living out the dream of being invincible and parkouring off of high buildings without fear. Among other things.
That being said I love the story and the characters also, it's just that at this point I've learned it by heart and am waiting for the DLC.
But it's literally the first time I've wanted to just exist in a game and come back to it with nothing much to do but roleplay.
Which is ironic, considering that Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley could never hold my attention despite being made as games to chill and exist. Not enough neon and gunfire for me, evidently. I'd say that the first person view is the charm, but no, I used to hate it in Fallout and Skyrim, immediately switching back to third person.
Apparently CDPR scratched some itch I didn't know I had.
(Perhaps the itch is everyone finding fantasy and/or rural games relaxing, whereas I've always strived for the urban scene. In which there's disappointedly little RPGs with character creation that don't also involve nuclear fallout. I suspect I would also spend a lot of time in VtM: Bloodlines if it was a but smoother to run.)

I have revived my old Fate/hollow ataraxia save from my old laptop. Maybe time to finally continue playing after years, I'm somewhere around 27%.
