Simple question ! What are your favorite creepypastas ? or just internet horror stories in general, I guess when writing the title I was thinking of older things like Ted the Caver but if you got any more recent recs it's still fun to see !

I really love internet horror stories when I was small I used to read A LOT of them and I don't remember all of them that well but I remember Penpal (originally from reddit i think) really stuck with me, but I was also terrified of Smile Dog because I was so sure the picture cursed me  :drat:

My personal favorite is "The Strangest Security Tape I've Ever Seen"! I don't think it's as popular as some other classics, but it has always stuck with me since I first read it.

"1999"

i read when i was 13, and its the best creepypasta that i read since for, the text  is very extense (thats why i still hasnt re-read), but i swear that worth it. Its about a guy who remembers from a old weird channel that he saw it when he was a child, its very well writed and i remember of the goosegumps that i feel when i read it. :ok:  :ok:

Definitely Ted the caver, it scared me so much when i read it when i was young, and the spookiness is entirely built up without any jumpscares or any cliché creepypasta, def recommend

i was kind of a casual creepypasta enjoyer as i had untreated anxiety disorders as a tween on the internet. i think the insistence on maintaining "keyfabe" in a lot of creepypasta circles really made my anxiety worse about that stuff... even when i was sure that a lot of it wasnt real
i dont really have a favorite one from back then but i think the russian sleep experiment is a cool short story regardless of how hokey it sounds to me as an adult lol

Hm.. I was too late to most of the creepypasta stuff, but I love internet horror in general (as long as its not gorey :D) My favorite is INTERLOPER though, it's not really "scary" IMO but it uses a lot of the creepyasta tropes (sentient ai, shady companies, games being corrupted) but presents it from the perspective of someone analyzing all the creepy stuff. It's so well put together it really really feels like one of those internet deep dive videos

I knew nothing about Creepypasta on a personal level growing up, I only knew them from a Minecraft mod but that being said I think my favorite has to be Smile Dog. He is cute to me in his own perturbing and peculiar way.
Actually... One that I just remembered while typing this, I was obsessed with Candle Cove and I think it made a larger impact on my development as a person than I thought. Even if it was a silly story I was obsessed with for like, a month. It definitely had lasting effects on my present day tastes in media.

The NES Godzilla Creepypasta & Pokémon Creepy Black for popular ones.

Conplus for a lesser known one.

Not quite a creepypasta, but my favourite lost media legend is this dinosaur game for the PC

Yes, the "haunted videogame" trope is my favourite for this kind of things. I really like to see a horror take on something I know well, made by people who also know videogames well  :defrag:

I was a huge creepypasta fan when I was in middle school, to the point where I got in a trouble a few times in class for reading them instead of doing work :P. A few of them really stuck with me - The Rake and Smile Dog were and still are a few actually well written examples of internet scary stories that manage to live up to the initial intent of what a creepypasta was meant to be.

One of my favorites was Eyeless Jack, although upon rereading it recently I found that it did not stand up to the test of time. The original story is incredibly simple, and the stories that expanded on the concept made Jack less of a horror monster and more of a sad emo boy with black goo eyes. Not my thing now, but that original image always stuck with me.

Another story that wasn't very good but that stuck with me was The Expressionless. It was probably just due to the photo and the fact that I was 12, but it always scared me to think of a sentient mannequin creature killing people. In hindsight, it sounds pretty dumb though.

I also LOVED Lost Episode pastas. Dead Bart, the one with Squidward, and the one with Mickey all freaked me out for real, and the recreation videos felt like they were going to kill me if I watched them. There was one in particular that stuck with me which ended up being a truly terrible joke-pasta - Happy Appy. Provided it's been over ten years since I last read it, but I think HA is totally worth tracking down. It's just bizarre and over the top, with Appy at one point commenting on 9/11 happening in the background of his show. I don't think I was scared of it, but the imagery it described had me hooked until the end. Then I felt a little dumb when I found out it was a joke.

As a former Bogleech forum member its amazing to see how big that pasta became, like we were not a big forum or any thing.
