Worst video game you've ever played?

Probably FNaF Security Breach. I know there are games out there that are objectively worse, but the disappointment that hit me after trying to love the game for an entire year was devastating. Beyond the bugs (that still exist ), the gameplay is incredibly flawed and the map is way too big for its own good. The game is pretty, sure, but it feels like they just wanted to make a pretty 3D model without considering gameplay and horror.

If I'm being honest it was Stardew Valley. Everyone says that its a good game and I'm not saying it isn't. Stardew Valley really just wasn't my "cup o' tea" per say. Its too slow for me and a lot of things are really complicated, and I kinda have a terrable attention span so I don't think that that helped much lol. Stardew Valley really does deserves all the praise it gets though.

Ow there's plenty of skinnerbox, microtransaction games out there. Like for the love of god I can't fathom why would anyone buy FIFA or Madden games every year just for the roaster updates. The worst part is, you don't even get the player roaster and you need to gamble to get platinum gold Ronaldo.

In terms of "so bad it's good", back in high school I got "Stalin vs Martians" in a bargain bin. The game is basically a shitpost that they managed to publish and sell at a store. I recommend looking it up just for the hilarious cutscenes. As an RTS game... it's mediocre, but I guess making a good game wasn't the dev's top priority. More bad games like this please.

apologies if someone has said this already but...i'd have to say silent hill homecoming. i know saying some silent hill games is kind of a common opinion but holy crap homecoming was pretty baaaaad... mainly because the gameplay was like pulling teeth!! introducing quicktime events into a silent hill game was definitely an interesting choice!   and i pray the newer installments coming out do it better...

 i did like a lot of the ideas the game had though! the overall concept of the game was good, i really liked the main characters and the overall themeing... and the soundtrack was really awesome! but everything else was very bad lol. i do belive a lot of the 'bad' silent hill games have something good about them!! but homecoming is one im most familiar with...

though i kinda still do i have a soft spot for it because it was the first silent hill game i ever played

Hooooly moly, you reminded me of how much of a fucking nightmare it was to play through Zero Time Dilemma. It's the third game in the Zero Escape series, which i absolutely love, but because of how AWFUL it is I can't recommend that anyone plays further than the first game. The second game is only slightly worse but still enjoyable, but since it ends on a cliffhanger it REQUIRES that you play the third game to wrap things up.

From what I recall, ZTD had a verrrry troubled development, and almost didn't come out. Budget was obviously low because all of the cutscenes range from boring but passable to distractingly bad. Example:



I like games with some jank or with weird visuals too, so that wasn't even the biggest issue! The writing in Zero Escape is wild, but even the dumb parts of it have made sense. Most of the writing is very well done, but the writing quality is completely absent in ZTD. No spoilers but jfc nearly every character's motivations are so stupid. All of the new characters are boring, and all of the returning characters are much more flat. The puzzles were also extremely easy or really nonsensical- if i recall correctly there's at least 2 puzzles that require RNG!

But yeah, this is one of the few games I've ever left a negative review on. Played the thing to 100% completion and hated every minute of it, and if I wasn't suffering alongside my friend I don't think I could have finished it. It's bad enough to make me hesitate telling people to play the series and it's such a bummer that it's what the series ends on

Oof yeah, I remember booting this up on the Nintendo 3DS of all things. After just a few seconds of cutscenes I went "yeah nah I can't fucking play this." I just booted up a let's play that took the game semi-serious and that's honestly the only way to get through this shitshow of a game. I was decently satisfied with how the story ended, but some plotlines were definitely... Cringe.

Daikatana.Try playing it for a joke. The intro cutscene was so boring oh my god it was just 2 guys talking to each other and it went on for like 10 minutes. Afterwards I played a couple minutes of the game, tried to change the settings and me changing the settings broke the game. Even when I reopen it the game was still broken.

Easily the letter, have you ever wanted to play an extremely confusing wii u exclusive "horror" game that does not have any scary parts or instructions, to the point you will 100% need a guide to beat it? Me neither, only redeeming part of the game is that it's somewhat charming, but not nearly enough to make the game good, or even passable.

Probably not the worst game I've ever played since I also had my fair share of shitty shovelware, but here's a game that I tried going back to but I can't: Pokémon Diamond

Now, this is going to upset many people here, and I know this is a game that made people's childhoods, but I just. I can't with this game. It's slow as molasses.

Battles take FOREVER. There's like this tiny extra delay time between starting a battle, finishing an attack, finishing a turn and ending the battle that drives me nuts. Yes, it's just a tiny little thing, but it adds up with every battle you fight (and you do A LOT of battles in Pokémon overall  ) and it just. It takes FOREVER to get started or reach anywhere. I think it took me TWO WHOLE HOURS to reach the first gym, and all I did was walk thru every tile of grass fighting Pokemon along the way as I use to do with all the games! Nobody should dunk two hours on their way to the first gym in ANY Pokémon game.

And I find like, 75% of the Pokémon that debuted in this generation extremely underwhelming  (including many fan-favourites... I won't elaborate in fear of upsetting more people)

Not even the allure of free shinies via a glitch got me back into playing. I tried to. I did this glitch SOLELY so I could be motivated to start and finish Diamond.

It wasn't enough.

Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood for sure. I hated that game, it was so confusing and NOT to my sorta style. Yeah maybe I was a kid when I played that game, but even now, when I pick it up, it's so weird and confusing, and I then put it down again 5 minutes later.

Okay. So a few months ago I would have said I didn't have any least favourite game simply because I don't tend to remember games I don't like. If I don't like a game I usually just stop playing for my own sake rather than force myself through an unbearable experience.

Recently however I started playing this game called Knights In The Nightmare because I wanted to experience a different kind of DS game I guess.

Needless to say I didn't like the gameplay. It was incredibly repetitive and i just couldn't get into it!! The characters and story were fine but the story was sprinkled in there in a way where you'd have to piece it together in a really frustrating puzzle piece?? And that'd be really interesting but nothing feels chronological and everything mentioned isn't really explained.

Like they mention "tiamats" which are like these magic people I guess?? But they never really tell you that!!! Or atleast not in a way where i understood it! I had to go on the wikipedia page and fandom wiki to find it out!!!! And that makes me really sad because the game looks good. The characters and the small things they say are interesting!!!! but you have to go through so much just to get a little bit of that sweet sweet character fun!!! And it ruined the experience for me :(

there aren’t a lot of video games i “hate”… except for shrek superslam. as far as movie tie-in games and fighting games are concerned, it fails on both fronts. i hate how it controls, and it both looks and sounds like the movie tie-in game of all time

For me it's probably shadows of ganymede on the ps2 ?
It's not even a funny bad game where there's anything notable about it it's just the most terrible, looking boring as shit, and slow shooter I've ever played ?
But since it's a budget phoenix game from the era, what should I have been expecting...

(For how I got it my parent got the game at a yard sale for like very cheap, so at least I didn' t lose that much money on it :/)
