i kept getting "session verification failed"

Quite a bit has changed about the way logins work! However I can't see any errors showing up and Iv not experienced this myself ~ It would be helpful to know what browser you're using and if you have any plugins or settings that would alter how cookies work (or any unusual browser plugins in general). Also if you logout and login is the issue still happening or was it a once off?

seems it might've been a one off - very strange i use firefox (latest version, so 132.0.2 at the time of this post), don't really mess around with browser settings so everything is likely default; i don't really have many extensions either - the screenshot below is everything i have enabled. it looks like it's resolved itself so might've just been a hiccup!

Kinda weird bug i noticed: the birthday cake icon doesn't appear in the dreamy theme? also why is there 4 different cake pngs for each theme when they're the same?

there might be an XSS vulnerability or two in the shoutbox. I don't want to check thoroughly because it loads automatically for everyone and I don't want to get banned for looking for security holes, but I was able to load in a button and have it display an alert when you hover over it with the onmouseover attribute.

if it was developed in house then it might be a good idea to, at the very least, poke in there and sanitize HTML attributes that execute JS. you probably don't want people running arbitrary code on your forum after all :P

edit: I managed to style a bold attribute and give it a font size of 64em and pagestretched the entire board index this cannot be good

Thanks for the report! So a lot of people do enjoy injecting HTML and CSS into the shoutbox, and there is some filtering in place to stop scripts. However, I took some time to review the code and I found some obvious faults that would allow scripts to slip through. Those have been fixed, so it should now filter out scripts more robustly ^^

I think it's important to trust people and allow CSS hacking to take place, as long as people don't abuse it, and I generally trust people on the forum much more than the wider web. It can be a great tiny way for people to experiment with their HTML and CSS skills

idk if this is a bug, or a formatting error, or something else, but I noticed that the Liquid Crystal Cafe's font selector is a bit cut off by the new image spotlight system.
Also, on the dedicated chat page, its cut off at the bottom, making it impossible to change the font to any of the lower options.
In the attachments is what this bug looks like.

I was not actually able to replicate these issues, I did notice that on one occasion I had to click the back arrow twice after pressing the plus, but after that it worked ok. What device and browser are you on?

I am on Firefox but the issue is also there on the in-app browser of my RSS reader. Video example:

I am uncertain if this is a bug or an intentional decision, but it seems impossible to create a new topic in the Thinking & Ideas section...

...Unlike the other sections, the New Topic button is missing!
If this is an intentional choice, I cannot see where it's indicated :( I am new to this forum and I might just be a bit blind, but even after searching around for a while, I haven't found an explanation yet as to why new topics here might be off limits. Hence this maybe-bug report!
(I'm on Desktop PC in Firefox, if that matters any)

I dunno if its something to do with the picture itself but I cant upload a piece of fanart to the Art Hub. It says it should upload instantly but i dont see it.

It's a small one, but when you select the font colour to be black, it pops up with one more # than it should, like this:

Hi how big is your file? I have the same issue when my artwork is a few MBs big. It uploads, but nothing is there when its done loading. Downsizing works.

Perhaps some info about the max file size could be added?

@Skykristal The picture is 2.16 mb. I dunno what the max file size is though
