[Yaya]

Hi All!

I've been really getting into GitHub for my personal projects, and I love working in the terminal/CLI—it's so straightforward!

But I've noticed a lot of GitHub projects that were big around 2018/2019 seem to have stopped by 2022. Does anyone know why? I'm thinking (pretty obvious I know but still...) it was the pandemic, but it's a shame to see so many cool projects not being updated anymore.

What do you think?

You mean OpenSource/Free Software projects or websites hosted there?
If the former: Quite a few projects moved away from Github in favor of codeberg and similar smaller services after the acquisition through Microsoft in 2018. I could imagine that this also decreased the appeal for webprojects, but I'm not firm enough in this area to say for sure. I sometimes still see stuff hosted there, but it is usually more "functional" stuff, like lists or tutorials.
