MelonLand Plot Design - Thoughts?

Here's what I mailed in. Any thoughts on it? I'm pretty happy with it, honestly! 

I opted to skip shading, I've never done pixel art like this before. I know it would probably look better with it, but I'm really not confident in my ability to do so. Maybe someday in the future! The palm trees were the hardest part, I think.

I like it! the color pallette really pops. If you were looking for suggestions, I would say a more central subject would make the composition stronger. But i think it's nice as-is!

Thank you!! I actually was going for a vast sorta feeling, so I deliberately didn't add a subject to it!

It looks really nice!! Not having shading can make it look a lot cleaner, I've recently opted to doing minimal/no shading in my own artwork. What is the "plot" thing, though?
