What color do yall feel the old web is?

This is something i just sorta thought about and i immediately thought it would be a cool question for the forum. I feel like the older internet is a deep blue or dark indigo color. It's the color i think of when i think of 90s internet and deep rabbit holes going towards untouched and forgotten secrets online. A lot of old apps and websites online used it cuz of how futurey it looked, like Cybertown and whatever other cybery websites there were. Its kind of a comforting color cuz it makes me think of walking alongside a quiet aquarium that doesnt have any people in it, or going down abandoned halls of ancient computers with cybernetic walls and blue streams of light. Its like when you find a secret crawlspace in a place you're normally familiar with and it leads you to somewhere you never knew existed.

Oh,, I think it's blue too, though I see it as more of a pastel shade. Nostalgic, for things that were.

I think of it more as a colour scheme, of black dark blues and purples---a lot like this forum's colour scheme, actually! And like my own site's colour predominant colour scheme, although I do mix some lighter purples in too---after all, purple is in my site's name and is kinda my thing. :p In terms of reasoning, I really agree with DiffyaDude! It reminds me of all the cool, super out-of-the-way Web sites I find---I feel like some of the coolest have a lot of black and then some neon colours as their colour schemes, almost like a DOS-meets-vapourwave aesthetic. I like to think of it as black, as like outer space. A seemingly infinite universe full of uncharted territories to explore!

I'd say #0827e5 . or really any dark blue. Probably because it reminds me of windows

i think of it as grey! the default shade of table borders, the netscape-now button, windows 95, netscape, et cetera. irc is grey to me also. i guess it depends on what kind of timeframe you mean by "the old web" though... i associate geocities with black backgrounds for sure.

yes bluee, blue and grey mix for me. I have to think of old Windows software as well as old Pcs.

I'd have to go with a dark grey myself. When I think of surfing the old web, everything is dark, almost black, because so many of the pages I frequented were colored that way. But grey was such a popular color back then, and I don't know why!
