hey, check it out! it's a cool event!

What?

Weird Web October is a challenge to try and make a website every day of October, based on the theme for each day, inspired by Inktober. It’s open to you and everyone!

Why?

We want to bring back the WEIRD WEB. When people just put fun and silly stuff on the internet, not for followers or likes but just for the joy of making something and sharing it.

idk the people running it, i'm just participating and think it'd be cool if lots of people gave it a shot like how a ton of people do inktober! it seems very melonlandish, given the focus on weird sites and net art.

any prompts catching your eye? some of them i have nooooo idea what i'm gonna do for (API.....???) but some of them i'm looking forward to a lot (cursed!!)

I'm not completely ure if I'm going to do all (or any) of them, since I'm already committed to doing both inktober and bugtober prompts this year, but thanks for sharing it!!

yeah, go for it! i'd love to see what other folks do for the prompts. i don't want to be too spammy, especially if i'm the only person doing it, so i'll probably just post like once a week. or maybe just do a roundup at the end of the month, idk.

This sounds really cool! Although I think it might be better to do one site per week, because one a day is a large time investment! But I'm really excited to see what everyone comes up with!

more than halfway through the month! it seems like i might be the only one doing this on melonland, at least going by the octothorpes... if anybody's done pages they haven't octothorpe'd, though, i'd love to see them!

so far i've done: nature, css, color, lists, notifications, science, GIFs, and audio!

i've been really enjoying seeing other people's work for this event. lots of really cool stuff.
