I'm a huge fan of collections, whether they showcase something specific or are just a general group of trinkets and objects. they can be a wonderful reflection of an individual's personality, interests, and values. my own site has a little showcase in the form of my museum of wonders, and I am also planning on adding a page dedicated to my huge collection of cassette tapes when I can get around to properly photographing them all. as such I've been thinking about the ways in which webmasters personally decide to showcase their collections. they're definitely one of the first things I look for when I'm browsing someone's personal site. feel free to share your own iterations on this idea, or variations of it from around the web that you find inspiring or enjoyable :-]

I currently have a general links page with some groupings and a link page specifically for all things Pokémon.

Posts about the intent of blogrolls, like this one, have changed my perspective on what a links page should include. So I definitely have it in my mind to remake my links page where each link gets an explanation for why I put it there and what I liked about it. But I also feel most people are curious enough to click on links and find out for themselves what it pertains. Not to mention how crowded a links page can get with all the additional explanations. So I am still debating on how I should tackle this.

I have been meaning to make pages dedicated to all of my Evanescence merch and my CDs/cassettes/records, but so far I have this web graphics collection page on my personal site and the entirety of Archivescence is one giant collection website full of web graphics and old fan sites :3

I like your quality over quantity approach, having each item cut out gives them a really enjoyable sense of importance which I think adds to your 'museum' theming! It also looks pleasingly like a fmv adventure game inventory.

My collections page is quite recent, so it isn't as fully fleshed-out as I'd like it to be, but here - it has pages for my action figures and physical music (cds, vinyls, and a few cassettes). The action figures page really needs photos of my main cabinets full of stuff to be added but I haven't worked out how to photograph them well without showing the entire rest of my room because of their awkward position . And I bought a big stack of new CDs recently from a music festival so I need to get photos of those up! Always so much to do with a personal site  :innocent:

I have a bestiary page that's basically a collection of a bunch of creatures I made up, Pokedex style.

Also a page with profiles of my own original story characters.

Not collections in the traditional sense but I love to categorize things LOL. Maybe I'll make pages for the stickers/CDs/DVDs I'm collecting in person.

@nuclearblues  I love the shelf style setup you have for yours!

one of my favorite pages that i've made is the one where i digitized my weird trading card collection (i'm trying to get one card from as many different TCGS as possible)

i do enjoy the museum of wonders, i love seeing people's trinkets and little personal touches of their life out in the real world...
