hello! my name's mj, i'm new. i have no gender and go by any pronouns but tend to present masculine.

i found this place by stumbling through the grand 88x31 button trail of the web and the sheer Atmosphere of melonland-related sites is marvellous. i enjoy programming, making music, and consuming/producing various surrealist media. i've been doing the former since i was nine, the middler since i was 13, and the latter probably as long as i've spoken english.

interactable art is something that interests me greatly, and while i find myself unable to finish many large projects nowadays, i do have a very strong interest in gamedev, whether that be via a proper game engine or just raylib and a few libraries. i have a mostly undocumented weird worldbuilding project named Cal, and intend to at some point finish a game set in it.

you also mentioned since you've spoken English, is it your second language or did you just mean from when you were very young?

I'm not confident with coding so you programming stuff don't make sense to me but your music on BandCamp is quite interesting. I'll listen to it this week-end. So far I really like "SouthEast" on your "dewritten" album. If you had unlimited money / help for your game, which kind of game would you like to do ?

How close is your game to being demo-able?

not very, it's very much in the conceptual stage at the moment since i'm currently putting most of my focus into my current album. hopefully once i get that done i'll feel more free to do some work on it, though!

it's actually my third! i grew up in lithuania, so my first languages were russian and lithuanian, though i've forgotten the latter since i haven't had to speak it in ages. i can read and understand russian, and speak it a bit, but writing it is a bit hard for me since i've become so distanced from cyrillic in my day to day life. although, later this year i'm going back to visit lithuania for a week, so hopefully i can practice then!

If you had unlimited money / help for your game, which kind of game would you like to do ?

for cal, i'm a bit split between either a top-down rpg or a side-scrolling sandbox. which i'd do i think depends on which aspects of the world i'd like to explore, since it has a fairly extensive history and a ton of different named characters and locations. but, to be honest, i think i wouldn't mind working games of any genre; i just enjoy the medium overall!
