mine is 464kB, though 280kB of that is in private, password-protected directories so publicly available content is only 184kB in total - with an average page size of 12.5kB including CSS :D

to be perfectly honest, i don't believe in over-optimisation, though i do like having as small a site as possible (kinda similar to my operating system: tinycore, that's only ~100mB!!) if my HTML pages start gaining a lot more content (in the megabytes), then i'll consider stuff like compression, but rn i don't think i really need to

i have pretty bad internet too (i tether my phone's LTE bc my wifi is so bad, so i get ~7MB/s and ~1MB/s download and upload speed, compared to my wifi's 3MB/s & 0.2MB/s), so if my internet can load a site, i don't think it needs /that much/ further optimisation apart from if you're using dial-up or have some pretty low-end computer resources!!

I just did a quick 10 minute attempt at a 1KB page.
Do they count 'size' or 'size on disk' as the actual size?
I've still got room for more but 1KB sure does fill up fast...

I am at 235.73 MB!
I have an art and graphic-heavy site as well as a LOT of pages and things I write and want to display. For what I have 235MB are actually pretty decent. I used to have a much bigger size with much less content but I then decided to keep things as small and neat as possible. Sometimes specific graphics are just a little bigger (including video files) but I try to keep everything under 1mb. even under 100kb at best but it's not always possible.

I think the size of the whole site doesn't matter too much, as long as it is set up in a way that causes no issues for people who are visiting it. While I have an art website with a ton of images, performance is still important to me. I dislike not being able to fluidly view my own site as well. If a few very tiny issues are there, its alright. nobody is perfect. But when everything breaks, takes ages to appear and is filled with massive files the site tries to load, it's getting pretty bad no matter how huge or small your whole site is.

My site's at 47.5MB right now according to my computer, though I expect that to change given how it's in the middle of me overhauling my website. I don't expect it to get TOO big. Personally if it's available an option I like to keep from using too big a file format on my website

35MB, though part of that's image hosting. I keep my spacehey layout backups there too, so that's probably not helping... (⁠•⁠ ⁠▽⁠ ⁠•⁠;)

Agree with this! I have seen some indie sites that go a little bit too overboard with their scripts and amount of HD gifs...

Mine's 43MB. Half of that size is a recent blog post - which is a game playthrough with like 70 screenshots. I compressed the images as well as I could
(I should probably go and compress the other blog assets too, I have only really done it with that post)

I like keeping my size small just because smaller is more convienient to back-up and transfer, but I'm not too concerned about it.

Having investigated, my sites at about 76MB. I host a lot of galleries of different projects, and even a very simple JS game so I suppose thats to be expected.

That said, today I added a message book to my front page, and I'm worried that even if its an iFrame and can't make the filesize bigger, the page is laggier...

My Websites currently at 168mb of total Disk Usage, tho when someone visits it theyd only see like 20mb of it (80% of which being a background video lol)
I could probably reduce the size of what you see pretty easy but at that point id have to compromise on the visuals instead of just easy fixes like use css instead of an image to make x
pretty much everything I have on there is as css as can be

Maybe a full redesign is in order but I havent had any good ideas for that

i think mine so far is only 10mb, granted I don't host all of my images directly, still I'm trying to figure out better this image compressing thing, due to current events I realize its much safer I kept my images in neocities server instead of just relying on third party image hosts

My website takes 334.16 KB right now
I intend to add a lot to it, so we'll see how it grows!

If I notice my website slowing down due to it taking too much space I'll probably just move my images off of neocities and host them elsewhere
