Hello!!!

There is a new Art Hub on the forum that you can use to upload artworks and create your own collections of pictures! Click the ART button at the top of the site to GO THERE NOW  :wizard: :wizard:

It is prob very buggy and stuff, so please report bugs here and make any feature requests!

The idea is to slowly replace the Art Gallery board entirely; however this board will stay oopen for the for-seeable future, so feel free to keep using your thread if you perfer! Hwoever I encourage anyone with an Art thread to consider porting their artworks over to the At Hub and letting me know how it goes/if it does everything you neeeeed  :4u:

ok bye

What's the file size limit? We can't seem to find it...
I'm actually not sure! The limit in PHP is normally 4.8mb, however the art uploader uses a different system so it might be as high as 100m before it fails. However there is a limit on image dimensions; anything over 2500px tall or wide will be resized, and that will reduce the overall file size of whatever's uploaded.

Also there is a lot of work to do integrating the art section across the forum, including adding widgets into other themes, showing peoples recent artworks on their profiles, along with any mobile support at all! It will take a little while to settle in :wizard:

Also also the overall art hub theme can be improved a lot; I kinda just copied 2004 era Deviant Art as a starting point, but I'd like it to grow into its own identity.

Also also also in the near future Im gonna add embeddable galleries that people can iframe into their sites and that will support custom CSS (so you can show recently uploaded artworks on your homepage). :ha:

This feature rules!! I love that the layout of it is slightly old DeviantART-esque.

I think this is my new favourite thing!  :seal: Uploading art to the forum to show off was a bit tedious before, but this makes it easy and fun. I love how a lot of people are using it already and commenting on one another's art  :loved:

Can't wait for those extra features and improvements.  :transport:

On the craftster.org forums I used to frequent, there was a feature that allowed you to sort only by images posted. Since a lot of what was put up there was visual art, it was really useful and one of my favorite ways to browse the newest posts. This reminds me a lot of that functionality, and I'm sure I'm going to use it often! Thank you for adding it!

I'd love to see what it evolves into and the little quirks it will develop in due time
I really love how interactive and supportive people have been thus far on the art hub, the fact we can sort our submissions based on what subject of art it is (photography, craft, digital, physical etc.) is really great and I haven't been on a platform that does that other than my time on ArtFight
I am looking foreword to seeing any kind of craft submissions in our for-seeable future! :loved:

Feature requests:

- Ability to put a description when submitting art! Tags are nice, but I am a little wordier than that
- Link to an user's submitted artwork on their profile  :dive:
- ANIMATION CATEGORY, please!!  :ozwomp:  Either in GIF or video format!
- Maybe I'm already pushing the scope of this feature with the animation category, but music & writing categories would be good too  :dive:

that's a truly awesome addition!
One question though is there a guide about what falls under mature content? I tend to not put filters unless we are talking gore or sexual content. For example, I wouldn't filter a woman in a bikini unless the image is of sexual nature and intent. I also wouldn't filter low-medium blood amounts or horror or a guy in shorts. I'm generally not a sensitive person, not the biggest fan of filtering every tiny bit when its not needed and I would love to know what to be aware of, esp. in the "grey area", before posting my work.

And one feature/fix recommendation:
let the side menu be there at all times, at least when we are browsing within the categories.  It disappears when you click on a category and you have to go to the main page over and over to go somewhere else.

Oh yes, wanted to add one more thing: the ability to create folders and categorize one's own art & faves? Again, tags are nice, but I'd like a little more control over the thing  :dog:

I second this. Being able to sort your art on your own page would be nice, if it's feasable.
