Went down a rabbithole while purusing the surf club webring, specifically The Possum Den's K-Poss Radio: https://kingposs.com/.

Some of my favourite tracks from that internet radio station come from the Mod Archive: https://modarchive.org. Not entirely .mid files, but a lot of older formats and songs developed with 90's trackers, many made years and years ago. Some real bangers in there that don't have popular uploads elsewhere on the modern web.

If you download any tracks from that website, VLC media player is a nice go-to in terms of codecs to make some of the more obscure file formats playable. Otherwise, converting can work, too.
