hey, folks!

i'm hosting a dvd/cd burning workshop at my school. we plan to provide cases, markers, & printable templates for inserts & stickers. i'm making a pdf containing all the templates, along with some additional information, and i want to provide a few examples of existing disc designs.

this can be covers, the discs themselves, inserts, booklets; both manufactured and diy-ed. so please, inform me of your fav disc designs over ther uears!

I’ve never thought about CD designs before, but ones I like are ones that do something creative with the form factor of the disc, for example, the CDs for Weird Al’s Poodle Hat Album.

(Be sure to remember the hole is there regardless. xD)

Another cool design I’ve seen is one that resembles another format, such as a vinyl record.

Another disc art I love is the disc of Blade Force for 3DO! Nothing to say here, I just think it looks really cool!

That’s all I can think of at the top of my head right now. I wish you the best of luck at your workshop! :ozwomp:

This CD album is one of the few we still have in our household’s… The dude, François Pérusse, is such a genius in audio-based humour. idk what would be the equivalent of him in other artists, but he’s somehow similar to Weird Al (for the few parody songs), but most of his albums are like a comedic take of those Japanese anime audio-drama CDs. So much cultural Quebec references!

imho I bet that the playing card motif of this specific album was based from the skit he made (for that same album) where he spoofed an old anti-gambling PSA which ran on tv at the time.
