On the Ethics of Putting Someone Else's Work on your Website

Personally, I've DMed people asking if they don't mind me hosting their stuff with a link back, and I've had decent success with it!
I agree w/ the consensus that it's easier on a personal site than social media - but in general I think it's just easy if you're approaching with the ASSUMPTION they'll want credit.
Like "hi, can i put xyz commission on my neocities with credit?" always gets a good response, bc the ethical dilemma of "do they just want to steal it or do they plan on hosting it fairly" is solved for the artist - I've already told them crediting is in my plan!
