Screw Cringe Culture. If fetish porn and repetitive unfunny memes are considered acceptable, why can't fun video edit music videos be? There's nothing I consider more "cringeworthy" than the cringers themselves.

I will say, I haven't exactly seen anyone call them "cringe". The percentage of full AMVs compared to short edits has just dropped, and to me it seems like it's harder to find full AMVs to some titles than it used to be, while the shorts are galore. That being said, they are still out there and I treasure every good one.

I've seen it treated along the lines of cringe, mainly like in YouTube comments and stuff like that. It seems like anything that's no longer hip is automatically cringe, at least to some people.

I do wonder why it's dropped though, I'm guessing it's along the lines of copyright striking and YouTube becoming a shittier platform as the years progressed, losing a lot of the community aspect it once had.

or maybe kids these days are just interested in other things for some reason. I wouldn't know.

I agree with the overall sentiment, but why throw kink in the pile of things to attack? If it's consensual, there's no reason to shame people for being happy with their partners. I think that's rather problematic.

What bothers me more is people like to show it out in the open and don't care how it can be uncomfortable/disturbing to others. If you dare to express any discomfort or disgust then you're automatically attacked and accused of "kinkshaming".

I mean, I don't see a difference there to generic "the gays should keep their disgusting actions in private" homophobia. I feel pretty uncomfortable with that idea here in the forums.

Of course people shouldn't go right out in public and perform explicit acts where people can openly see it unless it's an event in a location specifically for that (e.g. Folsom Street Fair), but that's very very rarely what people do and it's also frowned upon in the kink community itself. I just get the feeling you don't mean just that, but also people wearing collars, mentioning kink or D/s dynamics in general social media, or making it a part of their public identity.

Kink is a personal thing and closely connected to one's identity and relationships. It's not exclusively sexual, it doesn't have to be sexual at all actually, it's a deep emotional bond shared between people and it's no different from any other kind of love. Treating it like some sick perversion that should be kept at home is really offensive actually.

I had an unhealthy obsession worth DBZ all throughout school. I got in trouble for drawing Piccolo on my desk in grade 8

I was a Toonami kid, so I still have a soft spot for anything they played.

It introduced me to metal and I think this AMV alone is the main reason I started watching anime as well as listening to power metal and other sub-genres of metal. SSJ4 Goku has a special place in my childish soul.

Oh boy, the throwback. This one was my favorite during that era, I just loved Naruto at the time and still love System of a Down to this day.
