Oh boy I have been on such a GBA kick lately, I just got done playing Mega Man Zero 3 and had a blast with it and now I'm playing MMZ4. Granted I'm doing it through the Legacy Collection but still! Anyways, I'm gonna nerd out with y'all a little bit.

Anyways here's my collection! The Glacier Blue is my childhood one, or more specific I think it's my little brother's since I cracked the screen on mine. I did replace the screen with one of those backlit ones but I kind of regret doing it. Not that it looks bad but I kind of wish I would have left this one alone since it's the one from my childhood and I feel modifying it removed something. If I still had my original cracked screen I probably would have modified that with no qualms since the screen was shot, but my parents understandably didn't hold on to it. The Spicy Orange GBA is just one I saw when I was shopping at my local retro game store, apparently it's a Japan exclusive color but I just thought it looked neat! And the Indigo one is my step-brother's GBA which I just kinda of happened to get swept into my collection, he hasn't ever asked for it back but if he did I'd have no problem giving it back.
The SP is also my childhood one though, but it needs to be repaired. Ages ago I guess someone spilled Dr Pepper on it and it kinda just oozed into a syrup. It has issues charging, like if I put a charged battery into the SP then it will work but if I plug the charger into it won't charge. So I'm hoping it's the charging port, I bought a new part I just gotta get around to swapping it out. My GameCube has the GBA Player attached so I think that also counts! But it's also in need of some TLC, the clock battery is dead which is just a minor annoyance but the laser is having a hard time reading discs. Which is a bigger problem to solve. I'm also fortunate that I had two GameCube-Game Boy Advance Link Cables growing up. In a cool turn of events my friends also have two more GCNGBA Link Cables so I've actually been able to play things like Zelda: Four Swords Adventures and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles with four players. I highly recommend it if you get the chance!

Here's most of my games! And a Nintendo DS Rumble Pack! I feel like quite a few of my GBA games have been lost to the sands of time, like I know I had Sonic Advance 3 and Pokemon FireRed, but I've held onto a good chunk of them! ChuChu Rocket! is an absolute favorite of mine, such a fun little puzzle game that probably had a hand in my fondness for puzzle games in general. I got two copies of Game & Watch Gallery 4 because one of them wasn't able to be read, but as I got older I learned about isopropyl alcohol and now it mostly works. Two copies means multiplayer though! The Donkey Kong Country games are actually my step-brother's again, but I did play the GBA version of DKC3 recently and it was a neat way to experience it. The Sonic Advance trilogy is one of my favorites and I love Sonic Battle. And I've actually lucked out in regards to Pokemon, in 2010ish I lost all my Pokemon games except for Red Version and that was a real kick in the knee. But actually it turns out I hadn't lost my copy of Pokemon Ruby since I was letting a friend borrow it, so it was nice that I didn't lose my childhood copy with a Metroid Prime sticker on it that I had tried to remove at one point! It's nostalgic! And the stickerless LeafGreen was actually my friend's that I wasn't sure how ended up in my possession, but when I messaged him about it he said I could keep it which was really nice of him.

But let me show you my funniest thing, all these copies of Kirby and the Amazing Mirror! So the torn label one is my childhood one, and I know we had two growing up but I only have one now. I wanted to play this game with some friends so I bought two copies online, the bottom two, only for them to be fakes. Which was already kind of annoying considering I wouldn't pay for them had I known that, they weren't that expensive but still. I would have been able to roll with that but the ROM isn't the USA one, it's the PAL one which means it can't connect with my USA copy of the game so they were truly a waste of money. I honestly didn't expect people to be faking Kirby cartridges but a lesson was learned. So rather than take the gamble trying to buy more USA copies, I figured it would be both cheaper and safer to buy four JPN copies of the game! Odd turn of events, but that's why I have seven copies of this game now.
And that's my gushing about the GBA! I'm pretty happy with my collection, I think all I really want to grab now for it is a Game Boy Micro at some point. And maybe some more e-Reader cards because I actually love weird little things that are kind of clunky.
I've decided to order a new shell for it as well as a new battery and a screen lens. I'm not replacing the whole screen because I'm pretty sure I'm one of like 3 people ever who like the original 001 GBA SP screens.
I'm also someone who likes the original 001 screen! Maybe I just don't know any better because I've never seen the 101 screens but I don't care lol
My most beloved game was Sonic Advance... I was so in love with the pixel art in that game, editing those sprites into my sonic OCs was how I taught myself pixel art in the first place and then ended up in my current career (domino effect meme). It's not the best sonic game but I have a very strong affection for it :')
Also yo same! Editing Sonic Advance sprites in MS Paint was my introduction to making sprites. And I love Sonic Advance, I honestly think Amy is such a fun character to play as in the game because of how unconventional she is.
