favorite fish?

what is everyones favorite fish?
im in marine science right now doing a project on fish & got 2 thinking.
also shoutout to "fish guy" in my chem for making me think about this
my favorite is an angelfish because i loveee angels ^_^

If I had to choose I'd say leopard sharks or manta rays :3 Mantas are my all-time favourite marine creature. I used to have trading cards of animals and I'd always trade for the different kinds of rays. I saw a sting ray at the beach once and almost died because I love rays so muchhhh

Leopard sharks are my favourite kind of shark, and thus part of my top 2 when it comes to favourite fish. IIRC they used to be mistaken for baby tiger sharks because of their spots, but then were decided to be a different species ^_^ I think we have a few at the zoo here though I can't recall if we have both tiger and leopard sharks or just one. I like them both, but leopards are my fav

my favorite fish would have to be the lion fish. i'm not too knowledgeable on ocean lore so it's purely aesthetics for me. i think the stripes and spines are neat. plus, they also look pretty silly from the front.
honorable mentions to cat fish (they're just silly) and mola mola (even sillier).

Cool! I just started doing my Bio course, I hope I have the opportunity to study in the coast one day.

I am very fond of catfish! The first one to always come to mind is one we call Pintado here, which is a very straightforward name meaning "spotted"

I think I don't have a concrete favourite? I just like fishies in general  I don't know much about them yet, but I like the way they move and learning about their lives and interesting facts like their own kind of bird-like singing.

I do want to make a quick shoutout to freshwater fish, tho: perches, trouts, largemouth bass... maybe it's because I've spent a big part of my childhood holidays near a huge lake, and I got to see and (partially) interact with fish & fowl living in lakes

Chaunacops! Also known as a sea toad. They're just so funny looking    They have legs! They remind me of those spikey bouncy balls that sometimes had glitter inside them.

As funny as accidentally posting two extremely large images without context is, I should probably elaborate. I LOVE small fish. Tiny tiny fish I love them so much oh my LORD I LOVE SMALL FISH. They are so cute. I used to have some, but I introduced some new ones to the tank and... things got messy. To whoever reads this message, please go out to your nearest lake and collect yourself some small new friends! It's free, easy, and chill to maintain.

My favorite is the Coelacanth for sure! Not because of animal crossing ok? lol , but mostly because how interesting it is that the species has been around for like 400 million years and almost unchanged. It also looks hella cool and they live for a long time. They're fascinating

I also have one living right in the middle of my animal crossing living room :B

Oooh fish topic!! I really love most deep sea fish, but the first that comes to mind is the Barreleye!



Their heads are transparent and the green ball-shaped things in the center there are their eyes!! A lot of people call them creepy, but I think it's a really fascinating adaptation! I wonder what the path of evolution for them to have gotten it would've looked like hehe
