Share your favourite bird songs and bird-related soundscapes.

Today I want to make you aware of the Eurasian Hoopoe, Upupa epops, or "Abubilla", as we call it here. ( Bird sounds - Eurasian Hoopoe call ) It's one of the most colorful birds we have around here (not counting green parrots which are invasive  :ohdear: but I still enjoy them), a striking orange coloration with a big feathery crest and especially those black-and-white wings!

In contrast to their attention-grabbing appearance, the call of the Hoopoe is very soft yet distinctive.

Now, I love all birds, even the most common and humble ones. The city I leave nearby is full of pigeons, and I've always enjoyed their different colorations and markings and gentle sounds. Here's half an hour of pigeons cooing ( Dove Sound. Pigeon Cooing Cuddling Sound ).

Finally, here's one nice video with assorted birds and water sounds! ( Bird Sounds at The Water Fountain on A Beautiful Evening ) I love me some gentle watery noises, fountains are my favourite! Can you believe sometimes I find these videos described as "meant for cats"? Yes, really! But since I have no cats, I just watch them myself.

I love the song of the blackbirds. Did you know that they have a surprisingly high range, similar to Nightingales?
Also, I lately heard a Gray Heron scream. It was astonishing :).
Another thing I love is to hear the owls hoot when taking walks that extend into the dusk. Its a rare pleasure in these perimeters.

He didn't call, but I've seen a Kingfisher today :).

common swifts my beloveds <3 <3 <3 they sound like sunny afernoons.
I can't wait to hear them again this year  :ha:

I think jackdaws sound pretty funny :)

sometimes the big trees near my home are full of chatting birds, I'm pretty sure they're starlings. it's like a condo for birds, and they're all shouting at each other from their balcony. there's so many and yet you can barely spot one!

I love pigeon coos too, they're very relaxing. pigeons are very cute

I also have hoopoes here (and the parakeets), and saw a couple too! they're pretty rare to see inside the city so they're always a nice surprise. I really like their colors and crest (they're the logo of the LIPU, “Italian League for Bird Protection”)
