hellooooo melonland! i've been playing on my ps2 today, so i'm just kinda wondering... what ps2 games does everyone here like? i only got my ps2 recently-ish, as in like, some months ago... i wanna say fall of 2024, so it's not like i grew up playing playstation games. i was a nintendo kid through and through! i've been having a LOT of fun with it, though! especially with rpgs...there's so many good rpgs on this system!! i've personally been enjoying .hack//infection and final fantasy x, among others! maybe i'll post a pic of my game collection later...

I hate to admit it but my favourite ps2 games are the ones that are promoting a film!  :skull: The most memorable to me being Monsters, Inc. and Cars.

Definitely War of the Monsters, Godzilla Save the Earth and Katamari Damacy - I played WotM and Godzilla almost every day for seven years when I was growing up, there's just nothing like them and I still revisit them every once in a while, although it isn't the same playing solo.

the two Star Wars Battlefronts and Lego Star Wars games also stand out, my dad played through both Lego games with me, and I sank entire weekends into the SWBF titles. It's easy to tell why there's still a passionate community around SWBFII modding, there really isn't any other game like it.

I also spent a ton of time playing the first Destroy All Humans! I never got very far into it (only getting past the Santa Modesto level) but the big sandboxes were perfect for me to throw physics objects around for hours.

I just handed in a bunch of my childhood games to the pawnshop.  :(

None that were my favourites though, they must be long gone.

I'd have to say Simpsons Hit and Run comes to mind.  And Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter, but mainly Ratchet and Clank.  Final Fantasy 10, of course, although I always preferred the more industrial and sci-fi settings.

Shadow of the Colossus, Psychonauts.  Stuntman!  I was never any good at Stuntman but even just making it through a level felts great.

I've wanted to play simpsons hit and run for a while!! i haven't watched much simpsons but it seems like a super fun time, lmao. definitely one i'm keeping my eye out for, along with gta san andreas...i can't find it at any of the stores i like to go to!!! ugh

I LOOOOOOVE star wars in general! i grew up playing lego star wars the complete saga on wii, and it was such a fun time... i nearly 100 percent completed it with my dad! we missed a few things, though. the only star wars game i have for my ps2 currently is force unleashed, which is one i never got to try as a kid... it's pretty sweet though

destroy all humans is crazy fun! i haven't played it much but i'm glad i picked it up. it's pretty funny, lmao.

PC > console

But I admit the Mario ports are very good.

Probably my favourite games would be the Kingdom Hearts series, I even have a Shrine on my Website dedicated to Kingdom Hearts.

But it honestly was NOT the first game I thought of. One game that I had spent hundreds of hours in, and still enjoy playing even today is MX vs ATV Unleashed. It is such a great racing game with a variety of vehicles and modes. There used to be a feature where in free drive move you could go to the edge of a world (when not in an arena) and then get blasted off into the sky; the music would get cutoff and your body would ragdoll while you fell.

And the soundtrack for the game is something else, banger after banger - I listen to it all the time while working.

Hmm it has to be the wide breadth of horror games on that platform such as silent hill, fatal frame, haunting ground, clock tower 3, kuon and similar titles.

I remember enjoying Coraline on PS2.

The selection is big since I like so many PS2 titles. However I really like the Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, NFS and Prince of Persia SOT Trilogy on PS2. I got Rule of Rose, Kuon and Siren waiting to be played.
