hi! my name is jasmine, but you can call me jazzy!! any pronouns is a-okay, but i have a slight preference towards she/they!

im an artist (specifically illustrator but i also animate every once in a blue moon) who primarily likes making fanart of things like parappa the rapper, which ive been a fan of since 2018! Other things I like include spongebob, miis, mario (especially mario kart), making and seeing art (duh), OCs, video game music, spaghetti, the number 3, and colors (especially any shade of purple)! What things do yall really like? do you also like any of the things i listed?

i also have a website (which is definitely a WIP) and love coding (primarily just html and css but i miiiight try seriously learning javascript)! i always wanted to make a website for I think about a decade now and was recommended Wix from a relative, but I was very skeptical of that and similar sites, one reason being that it doesn't seem like I'll be able to make anything with that from scratch that fits my vision of a dream website due to how limiting their features were or at least looked and how it's seemingly just putting pre-made elements together with no actual coding (although I do like strawpage, which is basically just that lol). Not sure if this makes any sense, but in a way it felt a bit like someone giving me Eggo waffles (which i do like btw) when i really wanted to just make the waffles from scratch, which is why I ended up using Neocities for my site since 2022! Another reason why was just looking at so many cool and unique websites made there that really gave me a lot of inspiration and motivation! My favorite one was the SUGARFORBRAINS website, which sadly doesn't exist anymore. Do you have a favorite website, from Neocities or elsewhere?

I joined here not too long ago mainly because it seems much more friendly and less toxic compared to the much, much bigger, addicting platforms like Twitter and Instagram. I'm also very interested in the web revival especially as someone who loves whimsy and creativity and is tired of the corporate web world and very much hate the mere concept of Web3. This place also looks super cool and I'm thinking of sharing some of my art here! Have you joined here for similar reasons?

HIII omg your site is literally gorgeous .... i get you so much with the social media stuff i recently deleted all mine off of my phone and its been so healing i think. i never realised how draining it was
i feel like i like the emoji way too much for someone who is like never going to use it

Thank you!! And I did the same thing with social media honestly. Although I still use it from time to time (primarily on Instagram as a lot of my friends use that), it feels great looking at anywhere but a platform like Twitter for a day for once lol. Not sure if this counts but I’ve been kinda like this with Discord recently as well. I didn’t delete my account (like most of my social media accounts except Twitter and Reddit lol) but just deleted the app and ignored it in general and, wow, it feels so good to break the habit of impulsively checking servers including ones i know are inactive. There’s also the fact that nearly half of my time on Discord just felt like witnessing stupid drama after stupid drama so yeah it’s great not having to think about that.

YES LITERALLY!! this was more the case with me for twitter but it was literally such a pain ....its so refreshing to just be away from all that kind of stuff. ive started just emailing my friends which is kind of funny but its sooooo nostalgic it reminds me of when i used to email my friends in primary school. i genuinely feel like being off of social media has such a positive effect on me im soooo happy im not using it as much anymore.
