Straight out of the 90's craze, Pokémon has been a staple for the Old Net as much as Anime/Manga is, at least up until the 4th generation.
Nowadays, we have wikis, Bulbapedia and Serebii, but what about smaller self-hosted fansites?

Many of them also had lots of info, sometimes stuff you wouldn't find in the aforementioned! Like The Cave of Dragonflies or PsyPokes: sometimes they will have more fun stuff, like the Cave's quizzes and fan theories, and others will be more informational. For example, I love PsyPoke's Diamond/Pearl guide: they are quick no-frills guides I can access on any device and they are straight to the point, perfect for going thru Diamond as fast as possible.

What are your favourite Pokémon fansites? Why? Any particular recommendations? On the same page, do you like any Pokémon Youtubers? I'm mostly interested in Gen 3 glitches and there's a few Youtubers for that: Papa Jefe, Sleipnir17, imablisy... to be fair on them, the video format helps showing how to execute glitches better for me, but I sometimes wish they also had a website to go along...! (imablisy has one!)

The Cave of Dragonflies

I'm so glad TCoD is still going strong. <3 Butterfree has always been such a good webmaster, I remember back in the day using some of her tools to generate structured Pokemon data for projects.

sidenote: more sites need multiple styles / style switchers!

I think sites like Blue Moon Falls and Buried Relic (and basically all their affiliates) are doing a wonderful job at giving the Pokémon fansite concept a modern spin. The sites are well-optimised and styled, while still keeping the attractiveness of old fansites. My favourite thing is just clicking through the menus and see all the cool tools and guides people put so much effort in to make. The fact that someone took the time to curate all this information makes me more prone to read through it. That, and they're more likely to have a niche guide on the thing you need.

As for YouTubers, I am a paid member of Blisy's channel. Their videos are what got me into RNG manipulation. I think they did mention that they would move their guides away from their website and to Discord, which I find very unfortunate.

Oh! How could I forget this Dunsparce fansite? And this really interesting Nurse Joy shrine?

Lycanroc.net is a good one, it hosts lots of old software and you can even play games on it, theres a game of picking your favorite Pokemon between a pair.

Super addicting when youre bored out of your mind.

I'll plug my own! My Pokemon fansite is Masterball at icirr.us, and it's a persona shrine/archive of my history with the franchise :)

Other Pokemon fannish sections I've visited and enjoyed are newlambda's, mei's, and chimera pet's!

sites like Blue Moon Falls and Buried Relic

These were the sites I would've thrown into the thread too, they are such fantastic sites and I love getting lost reading all the info they have!

No way... I have the Masterball website linked on my site, I didn't know you were on MelonLand! I love it so much, it's so cute. I've been taking inspiration from your trainer pages for something similar on my Pokemon shrine (which was/is just sprites of my teams) but I never got around to finishing it or uploading it. Keep up the great work. :transport:

Shameless plug for my own site, Poliwager.net :P

I was a member on Marriland Forums for many years before they finally closed down, but the site itself is still up. I used the Team Builder for a few years, which was handy!

Serebii is another classic one to mention, of course. Bulbapedia is not exactly a fansite, but rather a good Pokemon resource I still use often. TCoD and Psypokes are great too, glad to see them mentioned! I have enjoyed discovering Blue Moon Falls recently as well.
