Smells! what's your favorite?

So this idea came to me today recently my family bought some watermelon scented air freshener for the house, I sprayed it around, and it was such a great smell!    It was very relaxing, and pleasing I could of easily been smelling it for hours. a hour later I had to clean my pet turtle aquarium, and lets just say it's the opposite of pleasing  .

This got me thinking about smelling stuff, how much stuff there is to smell, how the act of favorite, and least favorite can easily change, and how smells can give you so many feelings just from some molecules.
Now of course this can be anything, and it can have any reason. Maybe the smell give you a sense of nostalgia, maybe it's just relaxing, even something as simple as it just smells good is a good reason . I'm interested in what the people of melonland favorite type of smells are.

I remember that I really liked the smell of a particular body shampoo, it just reminds me of childhood, I think I always like any smell that reminds me the time when I was a little baby. However, I can never remember smells, it's like aphantasia, but with smells, not sure if it is a common thing.

Lately, I have been purchasing hand soap, body wash or any fragrant products that are lavender-flavoured, so as to experiment if long time exposures of this smell can make me remember it. But alas, after using them, I still can't remember its smell.

As to why I picked lavender, let's just say I like making up fictional characters, and one of them shares the same name as this flower...

Lilac. I've always loved the smell of lilac, I'm not sure why. Ever since I was a little kid, it just tickled something in my little monkey brain. It blooms for such a short time, which makes me really sad, but it's my favourite time of the whole year.
