Hey, I'm Mark! I watched the 2019 Invader Zim movie Enter the Florpus earlier today, and wanted to share my thoughts. (Please keep in mind that I've never made a review before.)
The first thing I noticed was the animation difference! Besides the colors changing, things just seemed a little rounder overall. Not necessarily a big deal, but it was a bit off-putting at first.
Now onto the plot: I won't spoil anything major, but it genuinely felt like a great send-off to the series! I feel like the ending was a little bit cheap, but it wasn't forced or anything, there was foreshadowing basically from the start. In addition, I do think the story's tone was slightly off from that of the show, but that's to be expected for a movie released over 15 years after the original show's cancellation.
Fun facts:
- Enter the Florpus is also the source of most of the Invader Zim scenes & lines that have gone viral in recent years.
- Foodio 3000, the Membranes' chef robot, is voiced by Justin Roiland (best known for playing Morty Smith in Rick and Morty.) He was originally supposed to have a larger role, but Jhonen Vasquez ended up taking that one.
