So I've been slacking on working on my neocities and webdev in general but I dont want to lose my skills/what Ive learned. The problem is I find it so hard to get back into web development. I dont know why but everytime I tell myself Im going to work on my neocities I just get demotivated and dont want to even look at it. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any way to deal with this? Thanks

Personally, whenever I go through through webdesign-burnout, I just take a step back, keep the website in the back of my mind, and come back later. Usually what happens is that I'll come up with an idea later to add to my website. Heck, I don't even finish them most of the time, but even just starting on something is better than nothing. Usually it comes down to refining my HTML or JS skills.

    For example:
    • Organizing my games, and I realized that it would be cool to index my game collection on my website!
    • Doing some esports and my Coach tells me that I should write reflections of my practice games, so I write it on my website.
    • Just beat a cool indie game and I really want to make a tribute page to it.

Basically, I just add my website to the back of my mind whenever I'm burnt out. I wouldn't worry too much about "losing skills," but I can admit that you can get rusty. For me personally using tools like W3Schools and other tutorial websites help brush off that rust rather quickly!

But overall, don't sweat over your webpage! It's nothing to stress about, go at it at your own pace.
Out of curiosity, what exactly do you want to add to your webpage?

Phew! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I worked on my website pretty solidly between October and January, to the point where I think I might have temporarily burnt out on it. Heck, I'm pretty sure this is my first public post on the forums in a while too. Anyway, I'm eagerly following this topic to peruse some of the tips that folks might share! :eyes:

Ninja edit to add that I've just updated my imood and my StatusCafe status! I think little things like this can help me get back into the scene slowly.
