Fun search engines!

Yesterday, we were talking about fun search engines, and I was asked to make a topic about it so they don't get lost.

• Ytoo - a recreation of the old Yahoo portal, it's a web portal with tons of fun links, and the search feature allows you to select from multiple search engines that serve a different purpose (I will link those here too)
• Dogpile - (IT HAS A DOG his name is Arfie ) this search engine has been around for a long time, it compiles the best search results from Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yandex, and others. It's designed to give you the best results without duplicates, you can also search for images, videos, and news! (this is how it used to look)
• Old'aVista - similar to Ytoo, it is also a web portal search engine combination. Its search engine allows you to find old personal websites that are otherwise difficult to search for, so it compiles them in an easy-to-use format like a regular search engine. It has a ton of personal websites from all over the web, not just Geocities! This website takes results from the Internet Archive and TheOldNet (which I link further in this post).
• https://www.oocities.org - a Geocities search engine, its goal is to preserve as many Geocities pages as possible, especially those with scientific resources. It's really fun to look around, they are currently looking for volunteers!
• Wiby.org or Wiby.me - this is only a search engine, it lets you search through old websites that were made without javascript, some of the websites are active, some are old web inactive sites that haven't had their domain paid for and don't show up in search results on Google. It's really awesome, there's a "surprise me" button and it's a very fun way to search the web for things Google doesn't list! It has a filter for adult content so that makes me feel safe about using it. It's really fun for searching hobby sites and academic stuff! This search engine is also optimized for old computers.
• Marginalia (new) or Marginalia (old) - this search engine focuses on non-commercial content. You can find new web stuff like Wikipedia articles, Stack Exchange discussions, and other things like that that are knowledge-focused and non-commercial, but you can also search through old websites with their search functions! Very fun tool
• FrogFind! - A search engine made for old computers, it takes search results from DuckDuckGo, then converts the site you click on into very basic HTML! This is very fun to use even on a modern computer
• TheOldNet - This is a a web portal and search engine, they have a TON of fun links to explore, and you can join their web ring! It also has a lite version for old computers. The search engine has 3 features, you can search the Internet Archive for a URL directly or with just a key word, you can search for things on Wikipedia and it will pull up a basic HTML wikipedia page with images, and you can use it to search through FrogFind! It's a nice portal that combines different search engines onto one page.

This was so fun to compile, and it doesn't even include the fun search engines we have for gifs and images, i didn't include those because I want this to be more of an "alternatives to Google" list. If you know of other search engines, please reply to this topic!!

This is very cool! I love ytoo! already, and they have a Chinese version called Vegbao.com, which does have social media links, but also other fun stuff like making a wish on the online Ema.

Sadly, I can't use dogspot due to the region. Not sure if it's because of the plugins I have, or just the region.

Edit: It turns out I can use dogspot on my mobile phone, so it can be the plugins I have.

Oh noo T-T. I wish there was a way to use the search engines on the region, if it isn't related to plug-ins.

Good news for Ytoo though, it is a launcher for searching, so you can look through each search engine it launches, to make it work.

Edit: It turns out I can use dogspot on my mobile phone, so it can be the plugins I have.

I just tried using it again on Google Chrome and it works!! I was trying it on Safari before...Safari often breaks things lol
