Hello, I'm looking for feedback on the new reader CSS I made for long texts on my site. Example 1, example 2.

A bit contrary to the spirit of this forum, but I went for a minimalist style because I really enjoy reading clean pages like this on other people's sites, and I want this section to be content-first. I randomly picked colours and fonts to get a first draft so nothing is final. I am mainly curious how readable this page is: I feel the font is not the best for longreads but I can't put my finger on why. Any feedback is welcome.

From the perspective of someone with dyslexia, yes this is a realllyyy tiring font to read. I think thie issue might be that it's a squished san-serif font. Most adults read by skimming their eyes across the top of the letters rather than looking at whole letters and words. Well defined letter shapes help guide your eyes to the next letter, whereas in this font the tops are flattened so it's much harder to understand what the letter is as you skim it. A good font should feel like surfing with your eyes, but this one is more like Washboarding :ziped:

Sorry, I just saw I posted this in the wrong section!

Yeah you're totally right. I just wasn't sure whether this was just a me-thing but good to hear from a dyslexia perspective. I will look into a more straightforward font then. Is the header font a bit better at least?

EDIT: I have changed the font now. How does the rest of the page look now?

It looks like Arial to me  That's always a safe bet, there's nothing wrong with using a classic and its much more readable. The background tone is nice and unobtrusive. This seems like a perfectly acceptable long read style now ^^

Ha, the font seems to be loading at random now. I will download it to evade this problem. Attached image is what it's actually supposed to look like.

But if the rest looks good then yay I'm done (for now)! Thanks for helping out Melooon.
