Art gallery/showcase idea and references?

Sorry if come off annoying or wrong trend.
So I'm making my art gallery page for my projects like drawings, did you guys got any good references for gallery/showcase layouts? Especially about Asian old web artists, like this one and another one (Thanks Mouseing for recommend me second website for reference!).

I also tried to use Melon's gallery maker, but I like to write my own code instead
