I don't use the same username all the time, but I tend to at least use variants of the same username. (Versions of "azuremist", "azure", and "bede" for personal accounts, and variants of "artsy azure" for my art accounts.) I prefer to have all of my internet presences connected. However, there have been a few times where I've undergone a whole new identity entirely. (Mostly in spaces related to illegal activities. Yar har fiddle dee dee, etc)

That sort of thing definitely isn't for everyone, though. It's easier for bad actors to follow you from platform to platform during harassment campaigns this way (speaking from experience). It's def a matter of personal preference.

may i ask why you chose Captin initially? :dive:

Erm its kinda embarrassing but It was originally "Captain Crazy" but I don't know how to spell so it was "Captin Crazzy". After I noticed this I was 3 weeks into using it and just deiced too keep it

I eventually did shorten it down to just "Captin" because it suites me more, and I'm more "mellow" now so to speak.

TLDT: I suck at spelling  :drat:

I use a different username for almost every site I register to. Because I can never decide on which one I like the most so I just change it every once in a while. And because I just don't like having the same username on everything for some reason

I DO have general nicknames people use on me, but most of the time I go by whatever I set as my name and hope people recognize me lol

I’d say I go two ways with how I handle my usernames. On accounts where I post my art, interact with my friends and people I’m oomfs with I go by either Twiggie or Twigz0n, or just Twig. Twigz0n and Twiggie are both nicknames based on my online alias Twig, which is how most people know me online. I’d say this is my main I guess lol

I have one side account where I post things like personal artworks, sketches or miscellaneous stuff where I go under a slightly different username. It’s mostly a privacy thing and because I don’t want everything I do to be tied to my main art accounts, especially when the artwork or things that I post has themes or subject matter that don’t fit with what I usually post. It’s also more of an organisation thing too, as I don’t want my gallery to be a mix of finished projects and miscellaneous doodles. (At least not anymore lol)

I also might use a different name for certain social media/websites where all I do is make stuff like playlists with music or videos, or make collections of other peoples artworks for inspiration. I just don’t really see why I would need to have my public alias tied to accounts where all I do is mind my own business mostly.

I usually go by different variations of usernames and either add on to or shorten them. For example meridiaazura became meriazu, meriazu became azurabi, azurabi turned into rabipitter and so forth. Sometimes I'll be a little extra and add numbers or special characters to it just to make it look cool.

for the most part, yes! i tend to keep the same usernames on different platforms. there's a few i swap between a few depending on what kind of account it is. for example, on more laid back sites, like this one, i'll use arctozolt (only if it's available, i'm sure i'm not the only arctozolt fan in the world!). when sharing my art in a more professional manner, however, i'll go with electrofloat, since that's what i sign my work with.
