Printable Zine- The Very Basics of Web Development

Hi everyone My friends have been bugging me to make a zine on the very very basics of web development. I imagine everyone here already knows about everything covered within it, but I wanted to share here anyways in case anyone wants to share with friends as a way to encourage them to join the indie web. If you have a zine library near you, feel free to offer a few copies to them as well! I just ask that you don't sell it

I tried to keep things playful and simple without sounding infantilizing. It goes over the basics of web hosting, what HTML and CSS are, basic tags, and has a list of resources for more information.

Its's all very basic stuff, but I wish I'd had it when I started out! I hope it helps someone.

A friend of mine manages a zine vending-machine inside a University library, which is really popular and always needs more zines of this size to fill it. Would you be comfy with us distributing some copies of your zine through that machine? Zines are sold for like $1 just to make the machine operate + all money is put into printing more zines, not for profit. It's inside Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.

OMG I neeeeeeeeeeeeed a zine vending machine that sounds so so so cool. Are there any pictures or videos of it in action somewhere? I can't afford a ticket to New Zealand but I'd go there so fast just for the zine vending machine lol.

Also yeah I made the neocities zine when I first really got sucked into neocities lol and now I'm deep into it. Maybe it's time for a volume 2?

I'm really into the idea of sending zine files around the globe for people to print and distro locally. I do love sending mail but that stuff is getting expensiveeee. At Wellington Zinefest we have an 'International Diplomacy' table which is full of zines we've traded from another country - last fest we had a table of Irish zines from Limerick Zinefest.
A-ny-way I am keen to be a part of the melonland zine distro
