Over time I have developed my own means of what I call "enhanced reading", meaning in parallel with reading a new book I seek out and explore information and media that ties into the book in some fashion. This may include music, podcasts, internet articles, interviews, photos, film/videos, documentaries, maps, etc.

I've found the books I enjoy most are the ones that take me down the most rabbit holes outside of the book.

I am curious if some of you do this, and what methods/sources you may use.

Personally either watch the film adaptation (if applicable and isn’t bad) and/or take notes overall mentally

I love reading lore and theories of books. If applicable I look up the location(s) and customs. But I'm scared of spoilers so it's hard to read lore/theories if it's not a series where I can just avoid the name of the current book :innocent:

I also watch the film (if good) after the book; while everything won't be accurate it's nice to see the visualization others had reading the same book.
