revisiting the hotel Transylvania movies!!

because its the spooky season yet again, my family and I are rewatching the hotel Transylvania movies! past years, I've really hated the movies, but after going through some character development this year, I want to give them an honest chance for a good review from me. so here we go!!

Hotel Transylvania 1 - 4.5/5 stars

the original movie has an insane amount of nostalgia for me, it being my moms favorite movie since I was young. that being said, it has a bit of stupid humor, potty jokes, "cringe"... all things that I love  

this was the movie where my love (and nerd-like-knowledge) on Frankenstein (or rather, frankenstein's monster) started!! thank you Frank "FIRE" Stein :))) johnny is also one of my favorite characters from this movie and his dynamic with Mavis is genuinely adorable

the animation is certainly choppy, but it was a Sony animation's film in 2012. you cant be too picky!

Hotel Transylvania 2 - 5/5 stars

THIS IS MY FAVORITE HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA MOVIE     I love denis and dracs dynamic and dracula's denial to denis being human feels like an actual person in denial :]] if I could only watch one hotel Transylvania movie, it would be this one. I never get tired of it.

Hotel Transylvania 3 - 4/5 stars

the sequel no one thought we needed, and I guess we didnt, but its my moms favorite, so I have to rate it over 3 stars! I really don't mind the 'cringe' behavior and honestly think drac's crush on Erika is cute, so I guess either way i'd give it over 3. this movie is 100% a silly sequel to get more traction for the movies and merch, but i can let this one slide
