Also yay! Another person remembers Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi!

Ngl there was a period in my life where I wondered if I just hallucinated hi hi puffy amiyumi and it didn't actually exist just because of how little people talk about it. Plus I couldn't search for it to see if it was real because I didn't remember the name of the show.

I remember Brandy and Mr. Whiskers! I really liked it as a kid, and I think there were games for it on Disney's website back then! I had completely forgotten the name though, so I could only remember the character designs.

I remember Brandy and Mr Whiskers as well. It was only on as early morning reruns by the time I got to see it on TV, but luckily for me, I was a little insomniac who would often wake up early and not be able to fall asleep until way later and would spend those times where I'd randomly wake up at like 3 am watching TV. Sometimes I'd have streaks of waking up early like this that would go on for several days or even a few weeks until it would suddenly stop and then rinse and repeat every few months. I remember seeing it on Disney Channel a few times in those early morning slots.

Draw Squad  was a series of drawing instruction books for the 80s early 90s that  had a vhs tape version of it that I remember borrowing form the library as a lad. Mark  going yeah  became a small in-joke between my siblings and I.

Not sure how many people here remember Eureeka's castle but some of it is on yotube. :ozwomp:

as a sprout my favorite obscure show was The Save-Ums, which is a show that aired on Discovery Kids about weird little cgi aliens that travel to planets helping people:

and frankly this kind of thing still endears me to this day. I only caught this show once or twice and every time i watched Discovery Kids i would hope to see it again...

when i was even younger than that it seems that my favorite show was Tiny Planets, which was only known as Bing and Bong to me:

I seemed to really like aliens as a child...still do :]

I LOVE reminiscing about old kids shows/media. I am really susceptible to catchy theme songs, if anyone wants to highlight their favorite of those, too. My favorite PBS show was/(is still, I guess?) Cyberchase, which has a great theme song.

I love the variety of obscure stuff in here. Some mentioned I also know: Igor, Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman, Wayside, & Brandy and Mr. Whiskers (I also recall the online game for it!)

I offer up:
  • Tutenstein: Discovery Kids had some weird stuff before they became the Hub and everyone knew My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. This is a show about a young mummy who awakens in a museum and befriends a schoolgirl and her cat.
  • Kenny the Shark: Another DK show. Shark joins a suburban family. I don't really remember this one as fondly, but one time a friend of mine talked to me about this really weird official flash game online when you had to feed Kenny. So that's cool.
  • Oobi: A fascinating children's show. Not a puppet show but uses a training method by puppeteers in which they puppet using only their bare hands. Now that I'm an adult, I think this show's really interesting because I can totally see the techniques at play when a puppeteer has an actual puppet. The budget must of been cheap as heck for this.
  • Sagwa: I'm not a cat person, but as a kid, I loved how soft she looked.

I also honorably mention ChalkZone, I don't think it's super obscure (I guess it is pretty "less well-known") but it still feels like a weird fever-dream type of show in my mind. We quote "Rudy you gotta DRAW SOMETHING" all the time in my household.

I remember Tutenstein. I think I only saw a few episodes though.

Unfortunately, I never saw ChalkZone myself, but I've heard it referenced as an underrated kids show many times. It's certainly an interesting concept.[/list]

These are some of the shows I grew up with too--I was a big PBS / Discovery Kids kid!

Not sure how obscure it can be considered, but another Discovery Kids show I enjoyed growing up was "Bindi the Jungle Girl," which featured Steve Irwin's daughter talking about animals and wildlife conservation. I'd probably owe at least part of my love for animals to that show (along with other science communicators like Jeff Corwin, Steve Irwin himself, and Nigel Marven). For a while growing up, I'd actually wanted to be a zoologist because of it!
