Content warning? for talking about furry topics??? nothing nsfw, but at this point I dunno how folks would react just discussing more out there concepts in a sfw place. Don't read if mentions of cartoon tropes like transformation, inflation and flattening make you squeamish. I'm sorry if that disclaimer was very unnecessary I'm getting a ittle paranoid due to just how people overreact in online spaces sometimes. :tnt:

Without further ado.

The world I made with its lore and everything is a cartoon world with toons living on it, it's also a separate realm from the mundane world (think of irl) which only has boring humans living on it. The cartoon world is however weird, wacky and sometimes even crazy.

I have an entire section on my website explaining in detail how my cartoony world works, a lot of it is inspired by real cartoons and so many pages try to make sense of things that don't make sense for most people like for example why can't toons die? I figured that their body was made of something that resist pressure and damage much better than carbon-based lifeforms so when they get punctured, sliced, squished, melted, burned or popped like a balloon the worst they get a little lightheaded

And because I really hate death, pain and suffering especially in something I designed to be a fun paradise, they are at the same time immortal, immune to radioactivity and lastly if they get destroyed into noting they eventually just respawn. Even the scientists in their world don't understand how the hell that works. pain is extremely fleeting, when someone loses their leg and it bleeds out it's extremely painful, but not to a toon in fact it will regrow if given enough time

That said, they DO age, but it's only visible in the early days of their lives, I clearly highlight this lifecycle on the website, but in short when they are fresh out of the egg they are a bouncy blob, afterward they grow legs and a short tail, sometimes stubby arm, this is called the waddling head stage. Their third stage is known as the chibi stage. Finally they grow up to become very tall just like the remainder of their kin.

Instead of carbon and water like us they are made of rubber or some goopy substance inspired by the transfur furry trope that is extremely recurring in furry art and such. The idea is that each cell is alive and the whole body of the toon acts like a hivemind with each cell having telekinetic properties which allow them to contact other cells even if they are disconnected from the body. Yes that also means their personality can be overwritten if they get assimilated by latex slime.

The hivemind concept actually answers another question which is why don't toons have organs? Each cell does everything like digestion and assimiliation, they're like construction site workers. I elected that toons would have only 1 organ, that organ being the brain which handles cognitive functions only so losing it doesn't kill the toon, they are still alive, but either extremely 0-IQ stupid or vegetative. Thankfully their brain regrows after some time and so is their intellect.

Another example of a question I tried to answer is why can they just pull oversized objects outta nowhere or find shortcuts where there aren't any? It's because they are 4d beings who can only consciously experience the third dimension and due to that quirk they can interact with things normally outside their reach. I'm also tempted to say that each toon has a pocket dimension where they can store their belongings. In short if they believe they have an item or know a shortcut it manifests itself.

And the remainder of it is just "everything is socially constructed", this is my way to explain why cartoons are wildly inconsistent. Basically, nocebo and placebo are far more potent in cartoons than irl. An example is spongebob, he is so incredibly weak to a point where he struggles with a plushies dumbbell, but then out of nowhere he can just lift cars with one hand. There was also that episode where he wore fake muscles and suddenly he was the Hulk.

So taking inspiration from that, absolutely everything including concepts yada yada are socially constructed and both placebo and nocebo are very important to learn about in thrir world because that's the difference between a background character and a main character who can actually do things like fght crime.

I wanted to make this post both because I thought my analysis and synthesis was interesting (imagine just explaining cartoons so that they make sense you know) and because this is the world building forum and so I had an opportunity to talk about what I've been working on and off for months.

Everything above was a teal deer, it's explained in greater details on the lore page of my website https://rubbereon.nekoweb.org/lore.html

omg this is so cool  :ozwomp:

i love the hivemind cells thing! It reminds me of Zygarde from Pokemon, he's a gaurdian pokemon that seeks to balance life and death, and when something real bad is happening his zygarde cells appear in the natural environment and then collect into the larger forms.

I also enjoy the 4-dimensional aspect of the toons' physical nature, makes perfect sense that they can "create" a hole where there was none in a 3-D world, because of course there isn't actually anything stopping them from reaching through in 4D. The storage thing reminds me of Ramona in Scott Pilgrim, she has access to "hammerspace" which is a pocket dimension in her purse she keeps a giant hammer in  :4u:

im bookmarking your site to give it a read when i have time!
