Hey folks I have a computer question I might need help with.  :pc:

So today I was starting up the PC as usual but I couldn't see anything on it though. It was just a black screen. I had to press the power button off until it went back to my lock screen and then I also click restart as an extra precaution. I got it working like normal afterwards. And as an extra safety measure I also deleted my custom mouse asset from my computer and, sadly, creator buttons(they are saved on my neocities profile still though.),plus some backgrounds I saved just in case no extra viruses were carried out while browsing online.
So yeah, to my recollection this is the first time my computer has done this since I had it all this time.

I was wondering from all of this, do you guys think I might be getting something on my computer, and if so do you think I took the necessary precautions to protect my computer?

For further details on my computer, it's a Lenovo Hp Laptop I had since 2018? 2019? The sticker says it's 10th gen and I stick to using the firefox browser.

it could have just been some sort of glitch or something, maybe your graphics driver had a hiccup or your motherboard didn't recognize the wake event from lifting the lid on your laptop. I wouldn't worry overly much, never a bad idea to run a virus scan, and double check that you're up-to-date with security updates on your OS. Unless you've been downloading random executables from sketchy sites, though, i think you're ok!

Thank you @pepper you're right it could be just a hiccup. It's running normal today so far as well. I will take your advice on running that scan and make sure my computer is up to date too.

And no problem about downloading sketchy stuff on websites on my end. I learned my lesson during the 2000s with the "You Won an iphone" scams back in the day as a kid.  :drat: Now as an adult, I make sure to do my best to research stuff I come across online.
