My favorite RSS reader is FeedFlow. It’s minimalist and available for Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux. Some of the features I like are that I can read articles without having to visit the website, since FeedFlow has a feature that lets you read articles right within the app. It’s also very minimalist and has a focus mode, so the reading experience feels just like reading a Word document. Another feature that makes things easier for users is that I can enter a website url and let FeedFlow find the feed for me. So, I don’t have to go through the trouble of searching for a website’s feed. And it’s quite helpful for subscribing to YouTube channels since YouTube doesn’t provide an RSS feed directly. However, sometimes FeedFlow can’t find the RSS feed for certain websites. I’m not sure if it’s because those websites don’t have an RSS feed or if FeedFlow just can’t find it. In terms of appearance, FeedFlow is quite modern, and I like that.
Oh! I almost forgot. FeedFlow prioritizes storing data on the device. So you don’t have to use an account or a service like FreshRSS. You can sync with some supported services, but I prefer not to use an account, and I don’t really need the sync feature right now. And it's free and open source.
Maybe you'll intersted in FeedFlow? Hope it helps.
I might look into FeedFlow for my mobile phone because while RSS Guard does have the option to use FreshRSS & other online accounts, I don't use it that much instead opting for a local one. Plus RSS Guard has the option to select which feeds & folders get exported. For me, being able to read the article without visting a website depends on which feed it is, since "full article fetch" is still an experimental feature & some feeds just have the full article as the description. But RSS Guard does have a built-in web browser for ones that require you to visit, but if it comes down to that, I prefer reading in my regular browser with reader mode enabled. Edit: Apparently I just need to use the context menu and fetch the full feed that way on RSS Guard. But I downloaded FeedFlow for Android and it's nice.
