Finally I can cross off something that was on my whiteboard for a long time: My piece on why I hate debating. These experiences were notable enough that they are still with me almost ten years later. It's funny to think back to how excited I was to start debating class and how dejected I became when I realised it was a competition more than anything.

Maybe you like debating and have fond memories of it. Debate me!

Good conclusion! Strange things happen when you make a club or study of things.

Anything that can become gamed can be ruined, and anything can become gamed!

You cannot lose a debate or chess game when your aim is to grow. But if the environment only suits the players, only players will remain.

I don’t know what a debate is. Is it a discussion? A competition? What I like is exactly what you said: Well-intentioned conversations. To understand. To grow.

So if you ask me, I think you were the winner of your debate class

Added a new bit of writing to my Scenarios section! Fictional but based on many actual happenings that I've kinda mashed together into one.

Haven't added anything to the scenarios page in a LONG time, even though I've written many a thing between additions. I guess this was the first one I deemed worthy of putting up there (even though I don't consider it to be "good writing" lol.)

I wrote a brief rundown on Moshi Monsters and reviewed the movie last week. Not sure if I'll write anything else this month, but the movie turns 11 years old on Friday so it's a fitting date to write about it.

i like having links where you can remove bits and it leads to another page  :D ! my main browser browser isn't happy about it for some reason though @_@ (many 403 errors while it works fine elsewhere  )

I decided to transfer my old wordpress.com blog to a new host, I also decided to change the layout by using a static site generator called astro. I´m still in the process of transferring the rest of my old posts, readapting them for the new site.

It comes with a comment section and an rss feed.

The Blog is called The Ghastly Mirror I usually post videogames reviews and photography for the curious.

I changed my shrine directory page to look nicer! Will be updating again soon since I'm working on redoing one of the shrines and adding more of them.

I wanted to set up a webring with my friends from a small server I've been in for years now as they are getting into making sites outwith the mainstream web/socmed, but some of them couldn't add js on their platforms so i made this little directory page and a matching (extra big) button instead! most of them are quite early on but its nice to have us all together



It's just the one page but I'm really pleased with the result of the site itself. I haven't used animation before and I think the subtle bobbing up and down looks so cool while not being too crazy and inaccessible I designed it entirely based on the name we'd come up with - we'd joked about the colon being Cool And Cyber so I riffed on that sort of idea and went with this tech-y glossy look. It's a nice change to make a new stylesheet in a very different style from any of the others I've done so far, and because it was so small it was very quick and fun. Maybe I should be making more pages on my own site that use different styling for a change.........

In other news (and in stark contrast to my above tirade about the importance of developing a taste for Good Writing), I did the few last bug fixes I'm gonna be bothered doing for my stupid twine adventure. gamer discretion advised--it's kind of one big dick joke I put way too much effort into.
