i think i may have caused an issue with it due to deleting a test message. i did receive your comment (twice) and have managed to display it properly ^_^. i think it does work now (hopefully)! but i'll keep an eye on it because it was still a little wonky for me

i just happened to see this, if you continue to have any issues let me know and i can assist! (and make sure you have the most recent version of the code, i put out a necessary bugfix a few days ago)

So, I wrote this on Caturday. Intead of writing a chapter for my novel, I wrote about the chapter I wanted to write. https://starbreaker.org/blog/spiral-architect/patient-privilege/index.html

This morning I wrote a rant inspired by a Canadian news article about parents suing Epic Games because they let their kids get a little too obsessed with Fortnite. I made a handful of changes to my site that definitely took me way too long to accomplish, haha! 

• I completely overhauled my website so that way the main tabs are javascript!

• After the DDOS attack on Archive of Our Own (Ao3), it made me realise that I should probably take all of my fanfic and put it on a personal site. I'll still use Archive, because it's amazing, but in case it's down, I'll still have access to it.
  So, I made a fiction site which has both fanfiction and original work!

What I still need to work on:

• I need to make the site more accessible for screen readers, especially my fiction page. I directly ripped the HTML from Ao3, and it's... not the friendliest.
• To change the dark mode image on my fiction page to be a darker version.

This is actually the smartest thing you can do with your fanfic. Your work should be on your site first, and Ao3 should be a site to which you can syndicate your work if you want to.

This is true! I think my initial fear of doing it was that people wouldn't be able to find it. But after thinking more, it's a bit silly. My own work should be directly connected and available through me first.

In regards to discoverability, I guess I'll figure out as time passes. I'm guessing through webrings and SEO or some shenanigans. (I guess i could start a email subscription eventually. i do have a tiny little following that like updates)

Discoverability is definitely not a solved problem, though some Google fans and SEO geeks might insist otherwise. I'd focus on web rings, web directories, and interacting with actual people first, but as long as your pages have titles and descriptions, your text is well-written, and there aren't any broken links you've probably done 80% of the white-hat SEO work already.

Not a major site update, but I succeeded at putting my style and navbar in a separate page, so I don't have to repaste those bits into every single page. Desperately wanted to get this out of the way before doing any other site updates.

I created something perhaps at odds with my dislike for many of the bigger social medias. I have some memes and posts I like saved, and get sent some (saying "that's you" ) or some get posted in my group chats that I like, and I thought, why not display those in their own little feed on my site for fun? So I created that. I think they can give people an idea about me or just make them laugh.

This is so cool! And the resemblence to Tumblr is uncanny. I don't think it's too terrible to bring memes to your site, though I also see it as one of the better things about internet culture. I guess people who are against it can always avoid this section.

Today I've reworked my site background a bit; changed the shelf, removed and added some items. The balls visualizing the external sites or profiles are now gone. Added a new page dedicated to my girlfriend, visualized by pixel art I made of her Mandalorian helmet.
I've also finally fixed the grayscale mode not including the little scribbly divider. It should now do that. It was confusing before because it implied the divider is clickable when it stayed pink.

The animation-stop stuff will be implemented the next few days, and I will also try to find a nicer background color. I never really liked the muddy pink, it's a weird tone, but it made the other pink tones pop a bit more. I didn't wanna use white else the shelf would seem washed out. I'll see. Top of the shelf will also likely get a little music player (no autoplay though).

Your girlfriend's page is sooo cute!!  Wondering if a more purple color would be suitable for the main page's background?
