I made a found footage horror short film

[John]

Since we're nearing Halloween, I just shared a film project of mine on my homepage ... and then I thought I'd share it here as well:

A few years ago I created a found footage horror short film as a mixture of personal passion project and marketing gag for my family business.

Let me know how many apparitions you spot! : D I'm open to criticism, btw! There are a few things I'd like to change, if ever I find the time to re-immerse myself in this project. I hope you enjoy it!

PS It's in German, but I added English subtitles!

This was great, I really enjoyed it ~ I think the only film feedback I would add is that if you started it out with all the shop lights on and no film degradation, it would create a stronger contrast as things get darker, and that would build the suspense more. That said the ending is super well done and it definitely had me looking over my shoulder when I had to leave my room in the dark hallway

Also total aside, but for some reason I always assumed you were British

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! : D And thanks for the feedback—that's a great point! The video degradation was supposed to become worse around the ... apparition, but then it was just such a convenient element to cut down the length of the material in general that I overdid it a bit.

Usually I'd take that as a compliment, but coming from an Irishman that's an insult, right? xD But seriously: I'm using the anglicised version of my name online, 1. because I don't want my nationality to play centre stage, and 2. so my private projects aren't the first thing popping up when business contacts google my name. : P Neither my nationality nor my full name are secrets, I just don't usually advertise them. And I AM proud to have passed for a native speaker. : D
