Change the new season date system to be more descriptive. Instead of "a Summer night" use "a Summer night, year 2" or "2nd Summer, night."

The purpose of the season dates is deliberately to remove the feeling divided time. The idea is to create a continues stream of time without a sense of loss or distance, everything is supposed to feel like it could have been yesterday or 20 years ago.

Of course its an experiment, but I think that removal of time already suits the web revival far more than the traditional concept of structured time ever did. Rather than time being imposed as an external score or counter, it becomes something that you decide based on what you feel is old or new or worthy of being active. Essentially moving the forum out of linear time and into a kind of loose take on "dreamtime".

There's nothing stopping people from counting time in the forum, but the forum now won't do it for you by default, its up to you to develop your own method.

Oh, my assumption was that it was to make the forum feel more like a place. I like the idea.

My alternative suggestion then is to make the seasons names more evocative. Examples: "The season of harvest" instead of "Autumn" or even integrate the moon cycle into the date.

Maybe! We can definitely explore adding more to it, it turned out to be a very quick little edit and there's a lot of room for improvement. It would be really cool to have member created time blocks of some sort, where people can decide if its the month of the worm one particular month or something.
